Hi, could I please have some help.
I've been beating myself up trying to figure out how to do what Birdsie did above....her first photo/screen capture. I have read helpful hints here and old hints on the old forum and can't pinpoint what to do. Everyone seems to call it a s'cap. (I don't even know what s'cap stands for) but would love to do it when I am watching the cam and see ma or pa on it and share it with others as others share with us.
It's not pinpointing a segment on zaplive that I want to do. But is that something I have to do first to to get a s'cap. (hope that makes sense).
Thanks, I've really tried on my own....but can't seem to figure this out.
No hurry....just if anyone has some spare time.
Thanks.

Hi Sue - and welcome!
And thanks for pointing out that we're using shorthand when it's probably better to spell things out.
First, s'cap is a quick way of saying screen capture - taking a picture of what you see on your screen.
I use CaptureWiz, which is inexpensive ($39.95 US) but not free. You can download a trial version. And because I have it downloaded, I can't actually try the easiest thing - which is to use the PrtScr (Print Screen) button, then edit the picture in Paint which is a program that's built into Windows. I can't remember how you find the picture once you've opened Paint - am guessing someone will chime in with the answer.
There are also a number of other good programs. CaptureWiz is only for PCs, and I think the Mac Help thread has some suggestions for Macs.
Sorry I can't help more, but maybe this will get things started. And I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Hi and thanks JudyB for answering so quickly. Yes, that gives me a better understanding and something to work with. Thanks for your help. I'm just wondering if what you explained should be added to the helpful hints and/or future tutorial for other new members in the future. At least if there was a section designated for s'cap - screen capture that might help others, too.
Thanks, again JudyB, appreciate your help.
Have a good evening.
Sue
