Mom is up to dig in the bowl.
One chick is instantly awake and poopshoots out of the bowl.
The second chick is till asleep.
The egg is still intact.

Okay, there's something that looks similar to an eggshell laying at the bottom right. Mom has been up but and the egg still looks to be intact. Maybe it's an old piece of eggshell that blew into view or some other debris brought in by Dad.

This time Mom removes all the eggshell from the bowl.
I haven't been able to get a good look at the chick yet.

6:35 am
Mom is digging around in the bowl. Can see the back of at least two chicks but she hasn't moved far enough to see all three.

Nooooooo !!!!!!!!!! , the cam went down --- I hope it's only temporary.

6:43 am
Mom is up far enough to see the chicks squirming around.

6:47 am
Oh, there's his little head to the far side of his two older siblings and he's moving.
I've been worried that the egg was never going to hatch properly and I wondered if the chick would ever have the energy to break through that extra shell covering the egg. Glad he made it.

7:28 am
Dad has arrived with a big fish for breakfast.
He stopped long enough to see his newest chick then flew off.

Two chicks are up to eat.
Chick #1 has the smallest chick pinned down with his wing. I don't think he's doing it intentionally but rather trying to get closer to Mom for food.

7:30 am Little one managed to get himself free but he's still too new to show an interest in eating.

7:31 am
Mom is working as fast as she can giving #1 and #2 food.
#3 is sleeping.

The camera is doing a lot of freezing.

7:40 am
The two older chicks fell asleep during the feeding. The third chick slept through the entire meal.
Mom is now brooding.

Mom got up and is at the rim of the nest standing on the left over fish.
She hasn't eaten any and the chicks are showing no interest in wanting to eat.

7:57 am
Mom flies off.
I wish she wouldn't do that when there is food on the nest that may attract a predator.

7:58 am
Whew, Mom is home again.

Wow Chick number 3 hatched. I was really thinking he wouldn't make it - that the double shell was just too much

He is quite sturdy - more so than the other chicks - so maybe the extra time in shell is helpful.

I have noticed this Mom doing something I haven't seen other Osprey Moms do. She pecks/pokes the chicks when she wants them to move. I was looking at the new one waiting for it to move to get a better view of it and Mom pecked it so it lifted its head!!! Thank you Mom
