If you are a fan of the Franklin Institute Red Tails, there is a FaceBook page, open to anyone (you do not need an account) where locals are posting EXCELLENT photos of the eyasses and parents!!

Here's the link:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=9 ... amp;ref=ts

Also, there is also a fantastic blog called Hawkwatch at the Franklin Institute by SunnyDixie! She posts scaps, photos, videos and commentary by Red Tail expert John Blakeman.

Here's that link:

Haggard arrived at nest and fed 2 of the 3 eyasses. Didn't appear to bring anything in, so maybe nestovers from earlier? After 8 minutes, the parent left.

Hi Pandalover, Thank You, I appreciate all you're pictures of the not so little ones, my goodness their pin feathers are sprouting through already. Thanks for the link to facebook and I didn't have to sign on, I liked that a lot as I'm not a facebook fan but love Phillys redtail hawks family pictures. Especially of one little eyass taking a poopshot and the other two with that look on their faces' It Wasn't Me
I'd imagine the person that took the snap wasn't underneath the wee pooper giggle

eyass is self feeding or trying to, while sibs Sleepy

Hi Junie!! No, he wasn't under the nest taking the photos, he's smarter than that. There are reports that the sidewalk below is pretty yucky, lol!!! That's a great link, because like you I don't do FaceBook, but so many of the Philadelphia people are taking photos and posting them there!! It's fun to watch the hawkcam, but you can't beat the real thing Smile

Isn't that self-feeding amazing!! Seems early to me, but then I'm still fairly new to the Red Tail Hawk world!!

(Off topic: Junie aks weeyin, I'm reading through the soon to be defunct Tulsa Red Tail Forum, and I'm amused and amazed at your posts!! Reading about Thunder after he fledged! Quite riveting Smile )

The Philly eyasses are also getting closer to that first step out of the nest - to the ledge on the left there!!!

Food delivery, but no one was interested so the Tiercel just left it on the nest and left 3 minutes later!

ETA: As it was getting dark, I did see a haggard return to the nest and feed the eyasses
