Great to see you here, Sue - and thanks so much for the update! Three eggs does sound a bit more manageable than four - though they really did a great job with the nest full of eaglets last year! |

Hi Sue... I am so happy to read your update on the 3 eggs... JudyB is right on.... 3 is so much more manageable than 4. I followed all of your updates last year and look forward to what you share this year as well. I would love to live in your back yard. haha |

Thank you Sue for your report on the nest. We certainly value all that you do here when you have the time. Enjoy your eagles - still pondering that bear, what a day that was! Catch each moment as a treasure, the joy is yours to hold. |

Mom was just having a serious need to stretch her legs. She got off the nest and flew around and around for about two minutes, leaving the nest unattended. But she was no further than the "scenic snag," a nearby dead tree, as she circled. Then she's hunkered back down in the nest. She just needed to stretch, but her flight was cautious and hesitant. Just trying to keep life simple. |

First baby hatched on March 26. Two days later, Mom was acting funny as if another was hatching. I'm positive we have the two expected chicks. After that, there was just constant activity of feeding, moving around, flying off. Dad was frequently sitting on the edge with food. I know it's going to be a few weeks before I can confirm how many babies are in the nest. Yesterday I saw one of the parents tearing off tidbits of food to feed a chick. That would make the first chick almost two weeks old, so understandably ready to eat solid food. Just trying to keep life simple. |
