I finally got this video from a couple weeks ago. It simply shows a glimpse of the affection that these birds can have. Once sibling is grooming the feathers of his brother.

And as a little update, this morning three were at the nest. I don't see them much because they're off playing. I've seen them circling overhead, three at a time. The biologist assured me that as recently as last week, all four were accounted for. They still do a lot of screeching for food, and I see the parents occasionally. But I don't see food brought to the nest. All is good for this family of eagles.

One eaglet was at the nest this morning for a few minutes. I rarely see them anymore. It's a bit sad. The biologist did a wonderful online newsletter with beautiful photos. E-mail me if you would like the link.

Thanks for letting us know about that, Sue, and for getting permission for us to post a link! Smile

There are some great pictures of this nest in the latest Raptors of the Rockies newsletter, as well as lots of other interesting information - the link to the online version of their newsletter is http://www.raptorsoftherockies.org/pdf/ ... tter38.pdf. Please note that many of the pictures are copyrighted, so cannot be copied without permission. Thanks!

I always have mixed feelings at the end of the year - this is what I hope for on all the nests I watch - the eaglets becoming big and strong and flying off to explore the world. Smile But an empty nest looks very empty. Sad

I just checked my chart, and it looks as if they're 20-21 weeks old now, so it's not surprising that most have them have headed out to see the world. love
