5:15 - 5:16 there he is!! I knew I heard him. Man I wish he'd stick around longer. Isn't he awesome? I don't know whether its his call that's different or whether Metra does a different one when he's around but it's neat. It kind of has a bit of a faint trill at the end that's not normally there

after I left earlier Madis was back again. Metra was acting quite unusual I thought maybe there'd be a hatch but I was wrong so far

5:58 - 6:29 pm Metra has remained brooding just looking around being her pretty self facing toward 9 now love

One thing that surprises me is the lack of small birds on those boughs chock-full of seeds. I know she's a might fierce looking raptor but that doesn't stop the small birds with our other eagles. They are much too fast for a raptor to catch most times. They'd expend way more energy trying then the meal would ever provide. I hear lots of birds but I've yet to glimpse one in the foreground or background

Decided I needed a break before heading out, been a hectic start to my day I need to calm myself first

7:40 pm Metra still down brooding and alert. She's being really cute staring down in the bowl. I wonder if she's hearing the first cheeps from a pip in the egg?

(Nooo she's not they won't hatch till early to mid June! What am I thinking? First egg laid Apr 27, 2nd May 1st)

I'm starting to wonder if she eats off nest as that's something else I've not seen. The prey comes but I never see it go Titter Lots of birds singing now and the cam is perfect, I hope they leave it alone now

Lori...you do such a great job covering this beautiful nest that I don't have to!! Wink Rolling on floor laughing I just read and enjoy!! Nodding

I'm not sure if those are seeds on that tree or small pinecones. It does look to be some kind of evergreen...maybe?
