We had lunch today at the Spitfire Grill which is at the edge of the airport and I saw both eagles soaring overhead at different times. There were a lot of ducks on the grass beside the runway and one of the eagles flew down close to the runway but I didn't see anything in it's talons when it flew off.

On my way to Pat Bay yesterday, I saw one of the Airport eages flying across the field next to their nest, in the direction of Lochside Dr. On my way back from Pat Bay I saw this one perched at the top of a tree overlooking the water. Click bigger.

I went by the airport nest today and didn't see either of the eagles in the nest or in the trees near the nest. I did spot something on the ground beside one of the runways and at first I thought it was a numbered marker but when I looked through my lens it was an eagle sitting there looking around Click pics bigger.

I went by the Airport nest yesterday and there was no sign of the eagles in the nest or anywhere around the nest tree.

I have been by the airport nest a few times during the past 2 months and haven't seen any eagles. Yesterday I spotted a big dark bird perched in a tree near the nest. I pulled over and got my camera out just in time to see a juvenile bald eagle flying across the road right in front of me. It flew into the big trees and I walked up and down the road looking for it but couldn't find it. I thought at the time that it was an eaglet from this year; I was looking right into the sun. When I looked at my pics I realized it was a juvenile, probably 2-3 years old. I walked around to where I could see the nest and it still looked as if it hadn't been used at all this year. I heard a few cracker shots from the airport and a few minutes later one of the adults flew over and perched in a tree near the nest tree. On my way back from Pat Bay I spotted the juvie perched in a tree near the nest tree, then it flew to another tree close by and perched for a few minutes. I heard more cracker shots from the airport and an adult flew overhead and kept on going to the treed area across the road. The juvie took off and a few minutes later I saw both of them soaring overhead. Here are a few pics; click bigger.
