On one of the trials we could see a large bird. As we got closer it appeared to be a Grouse of some type. To our delight it did not fly away, but perched in a spruce pine tree and allowed us photos and videos. It did turn out to be a Spruce Grouse in a spruce pine tree. Smile

The bird I love to hear and see when in Canada is the Loon. It is a real spirit of the wild and sounds that way at night as it calls in the dark. I did not record their call but was very blessed to hear it on our last night in Algonquin. Here are some photos I caught of the beautiful Loons.

This link will take you to a audio of the Loon call. WOW!!!! http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/a ... mmon-loon/

There is water in all forms along the trails Lakes, streams, falls, bogs, and ponds. It makes the hiking very interesting visually and audio wise. I took videos of a some of the water sights and sounds.
