Now for the Eagle Nest Encounter, the pair was at the nest and one was incubating either eggs or eaglets. The eggs were due to hatch this week. It will be a few weeks before I see the young, the nest is very deep.

This parent stayed by the nest and flew around the tree and into the back side of the nest to lay on the eggs or chicks. Once she was in the nest I could not see her any longer.

I'm not sure what is happening with the Mute Swan pair, they should be incubating on a nest too. I saw the male alone and I could not find the female. Yesterday, there was a male on the pond, but it was smaller then the male I usually see. I will be stopping by there frequently to see what is happening.

Male of the pair of swans on the water foraging, turtles in the background.

Smaller and younger Mute Swan on the far end of the pond. It took to flight and I caught a few shots of it taking off from the water.

This was the first time I saw a swam fly off the pond this year.
