I have not seen the Great Blue Herons foraging and this is why, it is breeding season. These photos are taken from the great river road and across the Mississippi River. This is an Island where the Great Blue Heron breed and nest. They were very busy there this week. You can see there are hundreds of them, they nest in colonies like most all herons ans egrets do.

I was very blessed to see another two raptors both male Peregrine Falcons along the great River Road and near the cliff areas along the road, both were perched in trees.

First one high up in the cliffs.
