Scott I love when they look straight at me too. Sometimes there are a few people around with cameras and the eagle will single me out. I hope that is a good sign, I like to think it is. It was a beautiful morning the eagles were enjoying it and so were we eagle lovers.Wub Thanks so much for your positive support.wave

Oh wow look at that male Linda! He even has a light spot on his back/wing before the takeoff pic. I agree full heartedly that he’s the male the female lower definately looks bigger. The second one is gorgeous and I’m taking female on it because of the legs and the beak looks thick. I love that shot where she’s combing her feathers on her wing. That last one sure looks proud, it should too being that beautiful.

Ohhh I love that gambling boat pic, I’d love to be on it! Wow I’m surprised the pair let that sweet juvie that close; maybe it’s one of theirs who knows right? Great day as always and I’m so glad you shared it with us Wub

I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

Doreen, I'm glad you are enjoying the eagle photos they are really beautiful birds, Thanks for stopping by.wave

Lori, That last bird was very confident and sat there on top of the dead tree like no one was there. There had to be 10 people there at one time. No one really speaks except for maybe a greeting.
It did appeared to be bothered by us at all. It perched there for over an hour and maybe longer.

That river boat use to go up and down the river. We would get on board and eat on the dinning level and then take the cruise down the river. For some reason it stopped the cruises and is always docked now. Sad

The juvenile was not as confident and only allowed me a few shots before it flew off its branch. It continued to soar close to the tree where the adults were perched near there nest. The adults did look up and watch the juvenile. I couldn't help but feel that it could have been one of their young.Nodding

Thanks Lori for be such a great supporter too.Smile

Hi Friends, wave Todays adventurer on the River Road and surrounding area was extremely cold with strong winds. I felt like I was in Siberia.Smile The eagles were perching in wind blocked areas and riding the wind soaring over the river and cliffs and other open water areas. They were very active today. No sunning going on, it was just too windy.

The last photos are from the Migrating Bird Sanctuary area and the eagles were fishing off the edge of the ice. Lots of action happened there over one fish. It was great fun to watch.

This first eagle was one of the few I saw perched and it was in a protected area in a cove along the river. It did not like my presence at all and flew off to another spot.

The next group of photos are of adult and juvenile eagles soaring and flying over the river, cliffs and other open water. Most of the time there were two or three flying together.
