The cam is up - I think - I saw Mom move her head before the ad started - and then it froze - and when I restarted it, they were both there!

Then one left

and I saw a little bit of white fluff but missed the s'cap - Paul from Africam says the first egg has hatched!

And now someone is brooding.

Good Morning Judy and all!
I captured a few s'capes of our black eagle incubating and then she stood up and it looked like she was rolling an egg. If you look closely at the 3rd cap, you can see what I think is an egg! ?

The cam does tend to stall out at times. Is that rain to the right of the picture or is it some cam static?

It does look like an egg, Jean - and there is a second egg that is due to hatch in a couple of days, so that's probably what you saw.

I'm guessing that what we're seeing on the right is some sort of static or heat waves or something - don't really know. It does let me know the cam is streaming!

Good Morning Jean & Judy Hello

Jean I'm thrilled to see you are following this nest! I've decided not to this season but I can tell you that you'll have lots of fun when it is down to one chick! The chick last year was a scream till things went bad.

Best to our beautiful Black Eagles Emoyeni and Thulane, their offspring this year and you all who follow along Wub

Hi Lori! There is a lot going on, and I'm not sure how often I'll be able to stop by either.

I've asked Paul from Africam what the white area in the upper right is - it looked as if it might be a waterfall as it got darker:

Hi Judy and Lori!
I followed last years cam from almost the start till Bafana had to be removed from the nest. I was just posting at Screech Hollow and not venturing out to other threads. Now that all our vacations are over and we will be home for the summer, I will be back to watching more cams along with my dear Morgan in the Ozarks. You will definitely see me here! Smile Were 3 eggs laid with one hatch?
I agree with you Judy with the "static" at the right, you can tell if the streaming is still going. See you back here tomorrow morning!wave

Hey Judy, Jean, and Lori! Hello

I guess it was just my dumb luck with the cam. Nice s'caps! They really are beautiful eagles.

Jean, from reports, there were only 2 eggs laid. One laid April 17, and the second one April 21. The first one has hatched and the second one is due to hatch June 4. with Cainism due to cease on June 7. Cry

I don't know if this is official, but they've named the first one 'Cain'. A deep sigh I may not even watch for a few days after the second one hatches.
