Hi Nancy and Lori Hello

Thanks for the vid Lori!!

It really is windy here today... if the cam had sound, you would be hearing some pretty good gusts.

You're welcome Lil', I sent it off to Chris too in case they missed it. So are you going to be our Ground Crew this year and go get us shots from below? Titter

ok so I've been doing my homework and waiting for more mating and it's all coming back to me now! (oh great...I hate that song and it's gonna be stuck now for a while). We have all the ordinary stuff like behavior and the female being bigger but that all does us no good when they come to the nest alone. But just at the end of the season last year we were getting a grip remember? Nanc in particular had the female down quite often.

I've marked the main things that we used last year. We still had to muddle along but I suspect that as with the Sidney Eagles we will over time get to know these two apart as easily

In doing this studying of the pics I got, it was plain to see that Rudy got his good looks from his Momma hehe. Not saying Pa isn't a sweetie but she has a lot of dark on and around her face and so did Rudy where Pa doesn't.

this is how we always knew Rudy right to the end, by the dark patch

A couple s'caps from 3:52 nest time.

1st s'cap- Dad on left, flew in with a nice sized fish in his talons, or should I say HAD. Ma on right, immediately grabbed it from him.

2nd s'cap- Ma takes fish closer to edge, Pa looks away... knowing she's not gonna share.

No sooner did Ma fly off with it to start snacking.

Hi Lori, I wish the nest area was more accessible...I took this off google maps, the "street view" feature gives you a great 360 view of the area. Tricky with the nest being along side the highway like it is and the land right below the nest is private property. Last year, when I took pics, I went on a Sun. and pulled just in front of the closed businesses gate and walked on the shoulder of the highway to get my pics. That only gives you a short in and out time. But as I'm doing a little digging, some people have said there is a walking path on the other side of the river where you can go under the bridge and through and be able to take pics in that area. I'm just wondering where they parked? I'll have to check it out.

Hi Lil' great 'scaps and nest shot, thanks. You know what? Lisa and Bill are very nice and in fact I was talking to her this aft and she seen the mating on the nest live by the way! So she got to see it from underneath and above hehe. Anyway, my point being I could easily ask her if access to the property would be ok for you to get us ground reports every now and then. You could call her when you're coming, what say you?

Bothering property owners is never a good idea by the average Joe but we are documenting their nest and they know it so it's quite different.

Haven't seen ospreys yet, just a person cleaning up below the nest and wee bird on the wire. This year with so many of the new cams we have that are new and improved, I'm a little saddened at the quality of this one but the ospreys will be just as fun! Titter

Yup, as advertised cam is down
