11 am
I've been watching a bit - this little Paddy has been alone for some time now. I can see her peeping - looking all around for her mom!
Paddy can sure stand tall!
11:02 AM
What a precious little fuzzy love ball! I think she's looking at us!
11:03am
Paddy is alone and so cute resting on her tummy.. i can see fly overs (shadows seen) over the nest.
11:13am
Paddy is looking around for Mom...hope she comes soon with food..can hear some cheeps.
1115 am
Think we can hear kids playing in the distance but no sure...sounds like kids.
1116 am
Paddy is resting on the remaining egg. Hope Mom makes a food drop.
1120 am
Strong windy gusts. Paddy is still alert in the egg cup area and the wind does not even seem to reach her because of the dept of the
egg cup which seems to protect or shields her.
1125 am
Paddy is still alone in the nest; alert and active; cheeping periodically too.
11:31 am
Can hear Mom close to the nest calling. Mom is home now. No food is brought in. Lots of wonderful chirping from Paddy.
11:32am
Mom goes over to brood Paddy. Can hear some close eagle calls; Mom exits then Mom returns to the nest enters from 12 oclock area.
Mom's beak is still stained particularly her right side of her beak.
11:34
Mom is rocking back and forth on the nest bowl. I can see something flying over the nest..mom is watchful....
1135 am
Belle has resumed incubating; looking all around with her watchful eye. No sign of Liberty at all this morning...and still no food brought
to the nest.
11:37am
Mom is watchful but quiet.
11:39am
Mom is up..flies off.
11:40am
Mom is back again.

Mom has moved over and is standing near 7; appears to be looking all around quietly. Paddy appears to be resting or sleeping in the egg cup with the remaining egg.
Mom does a shuggle shakes out her coat feathers. With Mom standing in this position we get a pretty good look at the right side of her beak.
Blow up of Mom's beak is posted.
1229 pm
Mom flies out of the nest using the side exit near 3.
12:32pm
Paddy is alone in the nest bowl resting /sleeping ... surrounded by lots of bedding in the egg cup area.
I can't hear any activity above the nest...
12:43
PJ was up ..heard some cheeps.. what a shame .. that is happening.. it truly is heart breaking. Paddy falls back over but get backs up again.. I can see flying above the nest... Please God that is MOm... PJ is cheeping then falls back down.. I am wondering if Mom is out looking for Dad when she is gone so much.... the last two times mom left..i never heard any calling or saw where she was upset... but maybe she saw something in the distance..
12:45pm
Can see something flying (shadow) above the nest...
1252 pm
Paddy is bobbing around quite a bit right now, looks good, still lots of energy.
1253 pm
It is very reassuring to see our Paddy doing so well; she is alert and active despite not being fed her first meal yet!
This is a heart breaking experience for all of us here particularly to those of us that follow this precious family on a regular basis so heart felt thanks to all of you for hanging in here with us to show your support to Belle, Liberty, Lil Paddy and to our family here!
There are some very sad realities that may occur here and we know the outcome may be very bad and we appreciate your support and positive energy it really does help us and we know first hand how hard this can be to watch. Should this have a horrible outcome we will deal with that when it comes...survival of the fittest is sometimes not very pretty so stormin heaven for a wee miracle for this beautiful family is all we can do right now.

Update from Dr. Madison and I do have his permission to share this here.
Picuture is posted of the large adult that is perched in the attic.
Dr. Madison email follows below:
We will post any updates on the eagle cam update site as soon as we determine what to do at:
http://www.fws.gov/nctc/cam/nestupdates.html
I am also attaching a picture of what may be the new eagle sitting above the nest. This was taken by an employee out here and is probably beyond the range of the eagle cam.
Cheers,
Mark
Mark On behalf of our family here we would like to extend our warmest regards and great thanks to all of you that are looking out for this precious family and for taking the time to provide us with updates along the way thank you so much.

Here is the NCTC updates posted on the link that Dr. Madision provided....
Eagle Nest Updates
March 18, 2011 - 3:00 PM
While we are still working to confirm what the current situation is with the adult eagles, we would like to remind all of our dedicated eagle fans that the eagles who nest on the NCTC campus are wild birds. As such, they are exposed to the same environmental pressures any eagle faces in nature. While the NCTC camera provides us with an opportunity to observe these magnificent birds in their natural environment, it is not our policy to interfere with them in any way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 18, 2011
The first of two eggs in the nest hatched yesterday, March 17th, in the morning. Two eagles have been confirmed to be present at the nest as of this morning. One has been generally staying higher in the tree (above the camera). The behavior we are seeing from the adult eagles is a little different than is typical. At this point U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff are working to confirm whether these two eagles are the mating pair. More information will follow soon.

420 pm
Strong windy gusts are brushing Mom's coat feathers. Mom continues to incubate or brood quietly as she looks all around.
Lots of wind heard on the mic.
4:21pm
Mom is sitting high brooding and looking all around.
425 pm
Mom preens her back coat feathers while remaining in her brood position.
428 pm
Beautiful Mom; she readjusted her brooding position abit as she looks all around. Can hear some birds in the distance I think....
hard to identify with certainity with the wind on the mic
430 pm
Mom adjusts her 'brood' position again; rocks gently back and forth side to side as if to comfort her baby. Continues to brood facing 12.
Paddy is quiet.
435 pm
Mom got up moves to nest center.
436 pm
Mom looks all around then throws her head back calls and thrills then departs the nest. Patty is awake alert and cheeping within the egg cup area; bless her heart she is a strong lett.
439 pm
Patty is crying; heard some birds in the distance but could not identify.
440 pm
Paddy still stands very tall and strong, looking around.
445 pm
Patty is still looking all around and actively moving in the egg cup area; what a fighter she is.
No sign of Mom or Dad...they are both absent still.
450 pm
Pattty continues to look alert and active; she is sitting up looking picture perfect and beautiful.
453 pm
Patty resting her head on the egg so super cute.
455 pm
Patty takes a rest and is laying down now. That was short lived Patty is stirring about the egg cup area again. Patty is looking up at us again she sure is a cutie pie.
Current weather conditions at the nest: Sunny 26 C Wind from the West at 22 km/hr
456 pm
Paddy is lookng up and all around, turns and looks up more, then makes her way to corner of the egg cup area where probably warmer and less wind, lays her head on left side for a second to rest. Paddy is resting now, hope she snoozes for a little bit.
505 pm
Patty has really been moving around the egg cup area it is really impressive how she is getting around she is using her wings to move about the egg cup area and even her butt at times too or so it appears.
508 pm
Heard movement in the attic then Mom landed in the nest; I think she was perched up there as it sounded like she flew down from there before she landed in the nest.
Mom was agitated and on alert when she landed near 7 she was calling loudly and sharply too. No visual of any intruder but definitely something is in the nest area out of our view.
510 pm
Mom moves to the egg cup area; checks on Patty then assumes the brooding positon and is facing 12.
I think I hear movement coming from the attic and perhaps a few calls came from there too.
515 pm
Mom continues to brood Patty.
516 pm
We definitely have company in the attic; Mom looks up, calls out abit and we heard movement and also
saw the tree move abit.
520 pm
The adult in the attic has called out a few times; Bell did not respond to these calls.
5:23pm
Beautiful Mom is brooding ..looking up.
5:24pm
Mom doesn't like her company in the attic..look up and calls... that intruder is some bold...
525 pm
The adult or whoever is in the attic calls out Mom looks up then she calls out briefly then she tracks something to our left towards 9 as if she was watching the adult in the attic fly away; we also heard the tree shake abit on its departure.
526 pm
Mom starts calling again watching something in flight near 9 and following it till it landed in the attic again.
The tree moved when it landed in the attic so that is our confirmation that something is above the nest; something
that is upsetting Mom. Mom continues to incubate in the same position but is ever watchful of the intruder in the attic.
Mom seems more relaxed now.
