It's so close to the Fish House in Stanley Park where we were in 2007! One of my friends here in Toronto is planning to go to the festival next November. I was planning to go back to Vancouver in October but now I'm thinking of going in November as well. We'll see!

They are not close to the Fish House near English Bay as it is closed and that is where the Heron Colony is....they are close to the Coast Guard Station on the other side of False Creek between Granville Island under the Burrard St Bridge and Kitsilano beach where the totem pole is standing. They hunt near the closed Fish House and active tennis courts which is in Stanley Park and Heron territory. They do have other eagles nests in Stanley Park but over near Malkin Bowl and Prospect Point.

I assume TEF you do not live in Vancouver or you would not have made an incorrect statment about where the Vanier nest is located.

Ease up, Judy! I was referring to a trip Sunshine Coast and a number of others made in 2007 over to Vancouver. We had lunch at the Fish House at Stanley Park which isn't far from the Vanier Park nest. It's a short drive from The Fish House and Heronry to Vanier Park.

Went down to the Vanier Park eagles nest but there was no eagles to be found today Wednesday December 7 2011...

Great pic's Judy, made the rounds today but saw no sign of the Viener Eagles around noon.

Fred and I made it down to this nest around 10:30 am today. Saw no sign of Ma or Pa ,put took a pic of the nest too show that it is stii in good shape for the 2011/12 season.Won't be long before we see this pair in the nest all the time

DAVID'S APPEARANCE ON SHAW-TV DELAYED

HEAR DAVID SPEAK ON THE LOW BRACKENDALE EAGLE COUNT!

David will be interviewed by Fanny Kiefer on Channel 4 (SHAW cable, local TV channel) at 9 a.m. next Monday, January 23. It is not known what time during the hour that David will be featured as she will have three different guests that day. He will be speaking to the low eagle count this year at Brackendale.

For those who don't live in BC, Fanny Keifer is host to an hour long show on Shaw TV featuring interviews with local personalities. It airs daily Monday - Friday at 9:00 am and usually repeats again at 4:00 pm.

January 20th 2012 we were down at Vanier with the dogs for a drive and there was one of the eagle pair sitting in the nest tree facing False Creek....when I took the captures with my smart phone I did not know if this was ma or pa Vanier but when I got home and uploaded them into the computer I could tell it was pa Vanier.
