Thanks TEF....... ma Vanier sits on the nest tree the most and pa Vanier sits on the totem pole. When its time to mate the Vaniers mate on the totem pole. Pa Vanier also goes and sits on the rocks at Granville Island to snatch a rat for breakfast.

Took a trip down to Vanier today to see if I could spot ma and pa Vanier.....yes they were there

TEF,Judy thank you so much for the updates and pic's on these eagles,I managed to get down to this nest today around 11o'clock to find both Ma and Pa in the nesting tree.Spoted Ma right away

But didn't see Pa until He flew out of the tree and then returned with a good sized branch for some nesterationsClapping

After Pa was done with his duty's he flew over to Ma ,

They both perched for awhile, then flew out of the nest tree and landed on the Planetarium .This pic is from the boat launch parking lot by the nest tree ,before I moved to try and get closer

They stayed perched for about 15Min. until Ma flew off to the West.

Thank you Larry for visiting my thread. Sorry, not able to go to FVBEF but would love to see you here in the summer we'll show you the nests in our area.

Edited to add: I have been to the Vanier nest but not recently, I must check it when next in Vancouver.

It's so close to the Fish House in Stanley Park where we were in 2007! One of my friends here in Toronto is planning to go to the festival next November. I was planning to go back to Vancouver in October but now I'm thinking of going in November as well. We'll see!
