HI Skipper - we were very close to doing that - but we talked it through and decided it was a shame to break up the team - so while there are those willing to do obs - and where they have a clear sighting of what happened - we thought we might as well carry on!!
We are trying to limit the scaps to only those that show what's happening!
Well--I don't know how closing the Observations would "break up the team" All "the team" would do is post in the Discussion thread what they would have posted in Observations.
I really think that most people look in Discussions for what's going on and NOT in Observations. IMHO the only ones that know about/read the Observations thread are the ones that post there -- and the number of posters is dwindling daily
I also think that people are looking in Discussion and, after not seeing much there, are slowly not returning to the forum.
So I really think to keep people "engaged" in the forum, we should close the Observations thread and post "observations" in the Discussion thread.
So I'm going to move over to Discussion to post from now on.

Quote by: JudyBPat, can you give me the URL for that pic or some huge pic?
Can you right-click and "open in new window" to get away from the ads?
It is strange - off to see if I can tell why the ads work differently than the other stuff in that column.
Added:
Not seeing any obvious "always on top" language, though it's probably embedded in the javascript. At the moment, I'm thinking it's a tradeoff we'll have to accept unless/until we come up with enough large-scale funding that we can drop the ads.
Here is the url for the page once it is up to massive size
mediagallery/media.php?f=1&s=20100311161955604&i=0&p=0
And this is the jpg
mediagallery/mediaobjects/orig/3/3_p1000309.jpg
If I right click that - copy the jpg and open that in another tab/window - then it is ad free - not only that - I can get it bigger, I think!!

Thanks, Pat! Wonder if we should add that to the Helpful Hints? I'm not sure if there are that many large pics, but it would be nice to see them without a google ad in the middle.

Hi Guys and Gals
Soooo this may have already been discussed but I'm not inclined at the moment to go through 11 pages to find out. On EA a few people have what we call the 'jumping bean disease' what happens is when you are posting and the post has any length to it the page jumps all over the place and makes it impossible to work with. Now, I never seen this first hand but read the others when they did. I recently had a 2 year old laptop die and so I bought a new one and guess what? I now have the disease too!!
What oh what is causing this? Anybody know?
I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

If it's the one I am thinking - it's on the list to be sorted by the software people!
It happens when you are posting enough to fill that posting screen!
So the crafty way is to do 2 or 3 returns before you start typing - then go back and type in the first line - that way you never get to the bottom - cos there is always a couple of lines below you!
I hope that makes sense
