Hi Marg Yes, please help yourself to a donut!!!
I use FireFox and had no trouble signing in just a little while ago. FireFox has been 'funky' lately, tho (but it could be the forum being funky) Have you upgraded to the latest version? CJ (on the African thread) has been having LOTS of trouble getting on the forum lately...but it didn't occur to me to ask her which browser she's using.
Wishing you luck - and save a donut for Terry

Thanks for the donut, slygirl!
And thanks for the info about how you use the login box on the side panel. What's happening is that there's a limit to what will conveniently fit in the right side panel - so Richard moved the log in box to the left side panel. But having a left side on the forum pages made the center part too small - so the left side panel is hidden here. (If you go to the Home page, you'll see it - and the log in box.)
With a lot of the options, the only way to know if someone is using it is to change it and see if anyone notices/complains.
A question for you - if it returned but was at the bottom near the auto-translator buttons, would that work? I'm not sure if that will work for what Richard is trying to do with other parts of the website, but I could suggest it.
Re Firefox - I'm running version 3.6.3 and haven't had problems - but I did with 3.6.2. I also needed to turn off a couple of plugins that were causing problems - but they weren't forum-specific problems. I wasn't able to open more than one window at a time in Firefox until I sorted out the addons and plugins.

You're welcome, Judy! Nice how the donuts never go stale, and last and last here, huh
Having the log in box back anywhere in the right column would be great, if it fits! There's an awful lot of info over there, tho. It's just a convenience thing - but a nice one!
BUT if I had a choice of 'things' to change/rearrange, I think you know where my vote would go That would be - an option to ''read newest first"!
Both of those conveniences would make my day!!! This new software is so gawd awful slow (for me), it would be nice to 'click' and be there, instead of click, wait, click, wait some more, click, ooops wrong page, click, wait, click - ahhhhh! But...that's just me
GR8 Day to you all

I can't remember if this was added to our list - but just in case I will put in a reminder!
We used to be able to edit a PM if it was still in the outbox - not yet picked up!!
It was such a handy feature - can we ask them if this is possible?

I still cannot review a person's history of posts when I go to their profile.
I know several others were also having that problem when I first reported it.
When I click on "profile" > "Find all postings by this person" ....I get this message:
An SQL error has occurred. Please see error.log for details.
When I am communicating with someone new or I have received a PM as TM--I sometimes like to look and see where they usually post and what their general history is--without this feature I can't do that.
Also, I use it for myself to find things I've written both recently and a while back--becauce it is faster than using my mailbox.

In my fantasy world, I'd love it if the Post Preview that shows up below a post as one is writing it, would have the time it was posted.
Currently, it has the person's name and post with s'caps (which is really nice) but it doesn't have a time unless the person included the time in their text. Another great thing about it is that it is truly current--things that just posted show up there right away.
Generally, this would help coordinate posts--helping to make them stay and be current. If I jump in and want to write a post without going back and checking everything, this would allow me to check the latest posting just before I submit. If I see that someone just posted what I wrote, I may not post it.
As you all know, sometimes I write long posts, or take a long time to write a post--if the Post Preview below me had a time, I'd know if and when someone had posted before me.
It's sort of a luxury item--but it would be nice.

It would be great to have a Down Arrow for each page, the way we have up arrows (or is there a way to get to the bottom of the page quickly that I don't know about )
