Re: Posting multiple images in one post

When I have posted 3 images in one post, and then previewed the post:

- One image is posted twice, and one image not shown at all.

- One image not shown at all

- One image shown as text site location

- After reviewing the entry, the correct file numbers are entered in the text - I reentered the numbers anyway and previewed again. Correction did not display

- Deleted an image and when I tried to enter it again, the browse box not available

l

Do you have the url to the post so that I can take a look at it ?

If you have BROWSED and added three pictures then it should work adding Click on image to download to your post.

I've notice myself that if a picture is removed that the browse button isn't replaced in order to add a new one. I believe that must
be the way this software works, unless I've overlooked something.

Question: How do you edit PM's in your Outbox? It was easily available on the old forum.

Just coming over to add this to the list - and I see it's already here! Grin

You can use the Quote button to copy the contents of your PM, then delete it and make a new one, pasting in what you copied - but that the only way I could see to do it.

Definitely not as easy as on the other forum.

There is no url involved when I post a photo. I use photos stored on my computer and I do not have a web site.

I guess from what you wrote, there is no way to add or subtract photos once you have selected preview, let alone post to the forum.

That is definitely a weakness in this program. It took me two hours to post 4 posts with multiple images as I had to cancel the entire post and start over for each one that I tried to preview and then edit photos as the program posted them incorrectly. Not really worth that much time - which doesn't even count the time it takes to process each image.

BET, I am pretty sure gemini and I played around doing that kind of thing one evening... But for the life of me I can't remember what the outcome was. If I can find the posts I'll let you know what we concluded or didn't conclude.

let me see if I can add and the delete a picture....

OK, Actually that was pretty straight forward.... Mind you I NEVER preview things so maybe that is part of the issue. Gemini is a great believer in the preview function and perhaps she will have different insight to what I have. I do now recall she was finding things about the preview function not to be as she thought they should be. Im going to post some pictures for you but will post this now in case i have to go and make a nest update post for Delta.

EDITED: to try and be more clear about my process.... Everything described in this post was done to the post ABOVE this one.

I added three pictures to the post above this one: this screen cap shows that originally there was a bear, a leopard and an elephant in the post above this one.

I decided I didn't want the elephant so I clicked edit and went down to the browse area.

I deleted the elephant by clicking on the red X beside the file.... THEN I hit SUBMIT and let the post reload. I had only 2 pictures. ( I should have taken a s'cap of this but I was pressed for time.)

I decided to add a giraffe picture. so I hit Edit and went down to the browse area where there was now a browse box ready and waiting....

Put in the giraffe and now it is the post you see above....

Terry,

If I understand this correctly, in the second post of your two, after you submitted the post to the forum, you selected edit and then deleted the elephant photo with the red X. The browser selection is available in the edit submitted post.. You entered the giraffe photo and resubmitted the edited post.

Well, the giraffe photo does not appear in your edited submitted post, it is still the elephant.

That is the type of thing I experienced when I tried to edit my photos. The deleted photo still appeared.

I almost always preview my posts before I submit them. I too often have sentence or paragraph structure errors that I make while changing my mind as I am typing. Sometimes I even skip entire sentences as I am thinking ahead.

Back to the subject. After you preview an unsubmitted post, you can still edit the text, but there is no browse selection available. Just the text listing of the attachments (like you show in your edit image) You can delete an image with the X but not enter a new image. As I recall my struggles yesterday, I don't think you can rearrange them by changing the numbers in the file entry either.

Bottom line: There is something wrong with the program's attachment software.
