Thanks, Donna. He definitely does seem to have a mark there - and I'd be in favor of keeping the pictures whether or not it turns out to be a cause for concern - if only as an example of the messy things eagles sometimes get into. I didn't take any pictures, but did see them with prey of some sort earlier today. I also saw some fairly assertive beaking going on between the two of them.
I'll try to keep an eye on them, though there is a lot going on these days.

We can all keep an eye on it when we see them in the nest. I think it is Pa that has the mark.
Lucy has been eating for almost the whole hour and 1/2 I have watched. He has been bringing in sticks and even more food. He is very alert and active. He has not been eating.

Have you ever seen a male eating when there's a female around, Donna?
Not to say that Moms are greedy, mind you - but they do know what they need!

2:30 pm,
Larry leaving the nest. Lucy has her prey in her talons. Larry was only on the nest a couple minutes this time.

Looks as if they got a bit of snow overnight.

One of the adults was in for a while, checking it out.

I'm guessing they're not expecting eggs right away - I'd expect them to have spent the nest keeping the nest cup dry if they were planning to use it in the next day or two. Or at least I've seen that on occasion at other nests.

The nest is empty but it looks like some of the snow has melted and Larry and Lucy are bringing in new fluff!!
