Can see the humor in these feather pics but am also thinking that she may be just a tad embarrassed in front of her man with that thing stuck to her.


She was digging in the nest cup (maybe trying to get the feather cleaned off her beak) then she left the nest.

1:22 pm,
Back on the nest (pretty fly-in) minus the feather.


1:27 pm, Working well together on the nest.
1:29 pm, One left for the balcony (middle trunk and branches).

Both Larry and Lucy are on the nest. It appears to be snowing lightly.

Just dropping in to add this new nest to my list of faves...boy, is it getting long!!!

As I was reading through the history of getting this nest on cam ( I love that part!), and checking out the scaps and trying to ID Larry vs. Lucy, I saw something that might be helpful to us.

If you look at the first s'cap of the two of them in the post on 3/6 @ 4:05PM, you'll note the obvious size difference. But what really stood out to me was the distance between the tips of the wings and the tip of the tail. Larry's wing tips are almost the same length as his tail, while Lucy's appear quite a bit shorter.

I know - this WON'T help if they are facing us ...but from the side or back, it's fairly obvious. Based on that, I'm gonna say it's Larry with the feather on his beak!!! (IMHO!!!)

Gonna go back and lurk from work some more...see ya all again!!!

They've been busy working on the nest this morning.





Now one is there, just looking around.

I have a concern.....maybe just blood from a catch and eating.....but I'll post the pics I got of a red mark under the eagle's beak and on its left side.







I will keep watch for a while. It was not there in pics from March 7.

a few more snaps as the eagle flies back in with a stick and watches overhead. It does not seem to be bothered by this.





If this is not a concern we can delete these pics later.
