Thanks, Debs and CAL - hadn't realized that they had the WA cam online - not that there's much to see today!

I didn't get to see the eggs during the series of switches - cam was freezing a bit, as well as the pause whenever I saved a s'cap. If Mom started incubating full-time as soon as the first egg was laid, it might be hatching today - but I think they can hear the chick a day or two before it actually breaks out of the shell - it can peep as soon as it breaks into the inner air sac.

If the chick was close to hatching, I'd expect Dad to bring food to the nest - and expect Mom to not eat it but save it to feed the chick. It doesn't always happen, but this seems like a well-organized, experienced pair - so I'd be surprised if a fish (or something) didn't appear shortly before the first egg hatches.

JudyB, it was wonderful to see Mom sheltering Dad. Thank you!

Debs, So glad the wide angle cam is up and running except that my teeth almost chatter when I see the cold and nasty weather our eagle family must endure today. Snow is bad but icing is worse, IMHO.

11:10 am, Mom (Etsi) still at 2ish with her head down facing into the wind and sleet.

Have heard/read that this is a fast moving storm; certainly do hope that the reports are correct. Am encouraged since am finally getting a view of the nest tree again.

11:28am,

Mom's body acts as an aviation tetrahedron; head facing into the wind. Sure hope the wind dies down soon.

Cal Thank You for the scaps and information too Left thumb up. I just lost the cam been trying to get it back with refreshing not working yet Rant

Judy Thank You for the scaps and information too Left thumb up. I hope if we do have a hatch which we may....that the feeding is postponed till the weather improves. It does look like it was getting better in last hour or so.

Got the cam back up.....wonder if I missed a switch no snow on Mom's coat at the moment.

1228 pm
Cam is buffering and can see the nest
sway a bit in the wind.

Mom's coat feathers have no snow at the moment
so perhaps there as a switch recently Mom
looks hunkered down.

No food in the nest. Weather still looks pretty
miserable and can barely make out the tree on
the wide angle view again.

There was a switch - wasn't able to take a break to post at the time.

12:18 pm - Dad is back

12:22 pm - Dad takes over incubating

It's now 12:34, and Dad is still incubating. I didn't see the actual moment they changed places, so had no chance to see the eggs.

This 'Snowpocalypse' sure seems like the perfect storm...really pounding the area and it seems like it is not letting up.....I sure hope there is no hatch today.

1248 pm
Mom finally looked up then resumed the hunkered
down position. No sign of Dad for awhile unless I missed
it.
