I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

DEAR NESTIES
We had rain last night! Actually, showers but it did get everything wet. Tonight they say we'll get maybe a half inch.
It's very weird but my mouse problem cleared up today. I wonder if all the site problems had anything to do with it...probably not.
Thanks for the bear update Scott. Well, now I know the answer to my question. Lily is not pregnant. I really hope they prepare to collar Faith early when they come out of the den in the
Spring. The fear and worry for Hope started at the get-go of the hunting season.
Thanks Jeannie for the pretty fall colors. I pack much the same as you. Not long now until you and Gina can hug sweet Terry! On forgetting your bags, just don’t do what Sam did one time. I don’t remember why we had to stop on the highway but he took one of the bags out of the trunk to get to something, got it, closed the lid and drove away leaving the bag on the side of the road. Some miles down the road, I mentioned something about the stop and it hit him! Long story short, we doubled back (finding a place to make a crossover is a nightmare) and need I say he was oh, you know, very upset!
Thanks for the nice good morning Judy.
I’m happy to hear your Mom is getting around in her wheelchair. I hope she isn’t like my Mom. She would zip around like that wheel chair was a race car. She always did like speed!
So sweet to see the tiger cubs…..loved it. Thanks for posting.
HI to you Kathy from a twig on the nest.
Pretty punkin Tuesday card LauriePea.
Aw, I’m really disappointed that that little church is gone! Wonder who’s brilliant idea that was I loved the photos you took of it and feel sad I won't see it again.
Woohoo Nanc, pretty RSHawk and a very brave Blue Jay.
Kat, Lovely, lovely single-petaled rose Fotd.
:hello:Iona K-up or no, it's great to see you.
Hey Lori, ‘Somebody’ wants to see those steps. As I recall they had a lovely vine growing on the railing.
I remember Hope and her fascination with that hollowed out tree. I’m afraid it brought a lump to my throat watching her. My heart cries for her still, but I loved it all the same.
Linda, You are the keeper of the swans so I know you will be vigilant in keeping tabs on the health of the cygnet. I agree he is a big boy.
Thank you very much for the RSHawk Botd. I remember that incredible video..fun seeing it again.
:hello:HI Doreen
Anna, Beautiful photos. Love seeing them no matter when you took them!
Bob is home and brought me the cutest little pair of porcelain ‘wooden’ shoes and some Dutch chocolate (yummy). I am waiting for him to bring me his photo disk.
Donna, Nice photos from your drive. Cool to see Elk lying all over the grass!
Bev, I’m so happy to read the good news about your MRI!
Thank you Jeannie, You sweet tater, you!

I got interrupted!...here's the story and video.
It's unbelievable what some people will do when fellow humans or animals are less than perfect.
This little pup was tossed in the trash because she had a condition called swimmer's syndrome. She is so cute and courageous. The video is about half way down the page.

___________
I'm here!
I was just looking for the link muddy posted about the petition to protect the Ely research bears so I can post it on the conservation thread. I guess I'll have to go back a few days.
I've been out all day because MA AND PA ARE BACK. The farmers said they would let me know when they were back and so today we visited them and Ma and Pa. Pa was busy flying about with nesting material and the nest is quite a bit bigger than when they left town in August. There is apparently a new thread started for Sidney pictures and observations. I just had a look and didn't see it so I'll look again later. I may have so pix to post when I have a boo at them.
Thanks judy. Here's a pic of Panda who is on my computer desk right now. He likes to sleep under the light.

BBL.
P.S. Muddy if you have that link handy can you just PM it to me please and thanks.
Here is the new Sidney thread.

Annie......i googled "swimmers syndrome"........an amazing story. I heard bits of it on the news today but didn't get to pay full attention.
It reminds me so of Colin's Great Dane, Cenote (Nottie)........When he got her, little did he know she was born with her heart arteries wrapped around her esophagus. The poor baby was starving in trying to eat solid food. He was led to take her to Texas A&M Vet Med. They fixed her.
I'm certain her breeders would not have saved her. She's our special Baby and has blessed our lives in so many ways.
for that uplifting story.
