Nestorations
Naoma, thanks for bringing that part of the update last night over to our thread. I found that very uplifting and HOPE something good will come of all of this.
Jean, good to read you survived your light and sound show - temperatures now look a lot more reasonable. Beautiful fall colours. Hopefully Linda and I can get some nice shots like that in the Smokies. Did you have something spiking your this morning??
Judy, cute hot dog in the basket. Beauty pics of the Barred Owls.
Here is my Barred Owl story:
A number of years ago, we went to northern Ontario for a vacation. Met this really nice Native Canadian family who ran a lodge near White Lake Provincial Park. We stayed there for a week and Sandy (around 8 years old) got to play with one of the owner's sons. In 2007, I returned (alone) to camp in the park but went to the lodge to see if Norm (the owner) was still there (he was). Had a good chat with him. He did not remember me very well, but certain things started coming back to him as I related some of the things that happened when we were there the first time. We got talking about fishing and he eventually said to come meet him at the lodge and we would go down the White River to catch some Walleye. So I took him up on his offer. We got into his boat one early evening and headed down river. He was still being friendly but rather aloof....like a local treats an outsider....until I spotted a Barred Owl sitting in a tree back from the river bank as we were zipping down the river. He had not seen it so, to my surpirse, immediately turned the boat around to take a look (guess he did not believe this city slicker. ) We cruised right up in front of it, got a good look and then headed back down the river. He looked at me and said "good eye, that was impressive spotting". It was amazing how his demeanour changed - like I was alright and accepted for being attentive to my surroundings. He started telling me about all of the fishing spots in the area, how to catch this type and that type etc. We caught a number of Walleye that night and his assistant back at the lodge cleaned them all and gave me the filets (even the ones Norm caught as he said "I can get them all the time"! ) for a lovely feast back at my campsite.
Cool story about the Bearly there pizzas. Too bad the video was "private". Now Fat Tony's pizza place has a new slogan - good food takes time to prepare so you will have to Bear with us! Wonder if cholesterol from all that cheese and beef toppings and sausage is bad for Bears? Oh, no, I guess not as he/she also had a veggie pizza!
Linda, those are such gorgeous birds. Hope you are feeling better, my friend.
Elle, yes, I am. Any loss is painful and this one especially so. Panda could sense your pain and came to give you a cat hug:
They are very comforting when snuggling and purring.
Looks like you have acquired a cat! Maybe two if Panda gives BY Kitty instructions on how to worm his way in to this cozy situation! Or maybe he/she does not like to share. Cool scarecrows.
Lori, since you confessed your sins, I will give you a well deserved:
Now you gone done it - ran too fast to Jean's boat and tipped her right over. Hope you don't spend....
SIX MONTHS IN A LEAKY BOAT by Split Enz (must have been lead to this version for a reason - watch for the Bear at 1:40 and the Eagle at 2:40)
CK, gorgeous red rose.
Laurie, that made me smile!
Anna, nice setting sun pics.
Tweets, yes, a green leafy bush with white flowers! (that's as close as I can narrow it down) Flower looks like a poached egg.
Scott, that this time will be good for Buddy.
Better get my request in to Anna and Ruud....

Naoma, thanks for the HOPE message from the bear update.
Scott, thanks for bear update, video, and the start of the day. I am doing ketchup, watching the Rays (8-0 right now), talking to my son in TX about the game, and I am supposed to be at a bday party.
I am not a good multi-tasker.
Hi Jean, pretty Friday card. That was some storm sounds like. Glad there was no serious damage at your place.
Linda, beautiful Dickcissel BOTD.
Judy, love the owl pics. Great RTHFOTD! Thanks.
Lori, I am still chuckling at the measurements confusion.
I was so busy online and in my bird books I didn’t even comment on your rain everywhere possible around you.
I am curious too Lori on the Faith nursing in the den.
Kat, those closeups you take are awesome. I just love them. Today’s is another absolutely gorgeous rose. Wow, full screen!
You and Lori had me rolling last night.
Laurie, love the Friday card.
Anna, what beautiful sunset pictures.
Tweets :dunno:
Jean and Lori,
Scott, so great to hear that it is so far so good with Buddy. I hope each day gets better for him.
Gord, I love your city slicker Barred Owl story. That is so great. I think I will agree with you on your ID for Tweets!

 Nanc...definately a duh moment for me there. Will be interesting to see what goes on in the den this year. Guaranteed a whoooole lot quieter than last winter. 'Member how many nights we laughed at our sweet screamer? (ohhh too much heartache to even think about)
{{{{Iona}}}} yes pile in the boat of broken hearts here GF. No worries about the red stuff, just happy to see you! love you too
