Still no hatch!

JUNE 10, 2011

It's 8:35AM and Tuuli is sound asleep...still quite a bit of food in the pantry.



A little later she is playing with a feather.



5:15 in the afternoon and she seems to be watching something. Lots of food and feathers in the nest...eggs still intact

Tuuli has rolled the eggs and now I can see a large pip and I can hear peeping!!




5:47 Tuuli is up for another look at that egg...there is a lot of peeping!



A close-up shows something in the pip hole...a little egg tooth maybe??

6:54PM WE HAVE A HATCH!!!



Here's baby!!! Tuuli is very excited..she is dancing around and touching the chick.

woooooohoooooo Mary!!! congrats on the sweet new hatch!! Maybe your sweet chick can tell mine to come out of his egg!

Video: First Baby Eaglet Hatches in Estonia

The Lesser Spotted Eagles have a new baby eaglet! Hours before, Tuuli and Remo stocked up on small mammals, which are now scattered around the nest. Perhaps Tuuli alerted Remo that hatching was imminent?

That may be a Cuckoo we hear in the background.

Thank you beans...that was lovely! I was watching while that took place. It looked as if Tuuli was having a hard time getting the chick, the unhatched egg, and the broken shell underneath her. Maybe she is a fairly new Mom as she really seemed totally fascinated by her new baby.
