Welcome to the Royal Roads University Eagles thread. There is a bald eagle nest on the grounds of the Royal Roads University in Colwood, BC. This is a dedicated thread where those who visit this nest can post their photos and videos of the eagles. Please feel free to post your observations, photos and/or videos of the eagles when you visit this nest.

Thanks to capo99 for posting this map which shows the site of the nest, originally posted on the Oak Bay Eagles thread.

I found the Royal Roads University nest today and one of the eagles was perched in the tree above the nest when I arrived. I took several pix of it before it decided to fly off in the direction of the university's visitor parking lot. Before going to find the nest, I was at Esquimalt Lagoon and saw both adult eagles and a juvenile soaring over the lagoon. I have seen the adult eagles a few times flying over the lagoon but did not know where the nest was. I took some pix but they were quite far away so I haven't cropped the pix too much. Here are a few pix of the adult eagle perched above the nest; I think it was the female by its size and shape. I had a hard time trying to get a clear view of the eagle between the branches and getting it to look down at me. Click 2X bigger.

The eagle didn't stay too long before it flew off. Click 2X bigger.
