Hello all.............I notice a lot of attention payed towards Mom and Dad rolling the eggs. What is the importance of the them doing this so often? Thanks.

wave The idea of rolling an egg is to keep the embryo from sticking to the shell. They found that rolling chicken eggs just 45 degrees one way and later 45 degs the other was sufficient, two or three times per day I think it was.

Anyway, I think there is a little too much worrying about egg rolling around here.

Annie & willpatt............Thanks for the help! Amazed by these beautiful creatures. I was at my beach yesterday when 2 adults flew in and settled on some pilings. Created quite a stir among all the other sea birds (& people) in the area. I'm grateful we have the cams to keep an eye on these two. Thanks again.
