Hi Doug: Hope you were able to take advantage of the weekend’s nice weather. It may be the last blue sky that we see for a while. All is well with the local nests. Enjoyed all your eagle and hawk photos. I’ve also been spending some time observing the Semiahmoo Bay nest. The eagles seem to be working together, with one in the nest most of the time and the other atop the dead branches on the fir tree to the right. Last two times we’ve been there we were able to observe them trading positions. As you’re aware, the eagles have not had good luck at this nest the past two years. It would be great to see eaglets this year. I’m also seeing a lot more juvies then in recent years, especially on the spit and at the north end of Birch Bay.

First you must follow before you lead.

This is my favorite nest to watch. Wonderful eagles that allow me to hang out and an amazing place to watch nature.
When I approached the nest area, Ma was perched and Pa was brooding on the nest.

Red River Nest * 4-6-12

It was a good day for flying with a breeze and some thermals.
Many eagles were in the area, some very high over the nest.
Ma decides to go on air patrol over the nest.
