The next stop was Sandy Point to look for Snowy Owls.
This sub-adult eagle passed over.

I found this SNOW hiding on a rooftop near the end of the spit.




I drove around to the other end of the horseshoe basin.
No Snowy Owls though one had been seen there earlier.

Hi Doug: Neat capture of the falcon under the tower. I think I’ve seen that coyote. If so, it’s a real scrawny one that makes its home in the fields by the abandoned Horizon subdivision, just to the left at the top of the hill past the Blaine sign where you photographed the owl. Also, be on the lookout for thousands of Dunlins on the shoreline of Drayton Harbor as you make the turn to the east headed for California Creek. Well, it looks like our days of a clear blue sky will be on hold until the snow moves away. Let’s hope the snowies will stay a bit longer.
