Hi Doug wave I’m glad you liked the raptors here in Ontario. That little Shrike is very hard to find and even harder to get a pic of but I’ve managed it twice now.

Oh so that looks like the eagle is sitting on eggs right? Woohooo! I love those Harriers I don’t know if they’re here I have to go look. That last one is a Rough Legged, I'm almost sure

Great job Doug Titter

I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

Hi Lori, I wondered if the eagle was sitting on eggs, but it seems too early? Possibly just hunkering down out of the wind?

Hey Doug, wave all I can go by is what I’ve seen over the countless hours glued to our eagle cams but I’ve never seen them stay on the nest in the wind without eggs on it. They mostly go to a tree and get close to the trunk I thought. There’s one way to find out, stake out the nest…take a drink and a snack and see if when there’s no wind if there’s a changing of the guard and if so you have eggs. With this weather an early laying wouldn’t surprise me one bit!

Hi Folks wave
Today I visited the nest at about 11:30, and found both adults at home.

February 15, 2010 * About a kilometer upstream from the Red River nest.

A Red-Tail hawk nest. I met the folks that live below this nest and they confirmed to me that this is an active Red-Tail Hawk nest. They thought that the Red River Eagle nest was new this year, which is different from an earlier report. We will keep asking.
