Bev,

This Ma has very distinctive darker feathers around her eyes. It looks like she has black liner there. She is a smart eagle. They just updated the cam here and often from 9 to 10 a.m. Bob will zoom about the property. There were 3 eaglets here last year.

I was hoping for a second egg today.....but ma does know best.

Great news about the second egg. Now we wait to see if there will be three again this season. It has been a snowy winter there.

Great pictures and reports, Bev, Donna, CAL, MayLine and friends - and congratulations on two eggs! Smile

These are a great pair to watch - and the new improved camera should make this season even better!

Mom did also have a dark spot on the top of her head - haven't had time to look this year, so don't know if it's still there. Her coloring would make me suspect she's a younger eagle - but she's had the dark eyes for several years, so I think that's just her. And she certainly behaves like a very experienced adult - they did a great job last year looking after their #3, who was a whole week younger than #1.
