Great scaps Cal. I'm so glad you caught these pics. I forgot about the sound on this nest. I have to remember that. He looks really good. They are just so big.......Smile

Yes, indeed - winter has arrived in Decorah. We had about 8.5 inches of snow last weekend, so the snow should be here to stay for the winter.

We're also expecting a wintry mix of weather late tonight (Friday) into Saturday - rain, freezing rain and sleet turning to snow later tomorrow.

We're all excited to see that the cameras are up and running again. Can't wait to hear more from the avid eagle watchers on this thread and what they've been able to see on the camera.

Hello Hello and Welcome, iowamom987!
Welcome

We are very happy to have you here with us. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have an Iowa resident on-board, especially since you are so close to the Beautiful Decorah Eagle Nest. Really do appreciate the "first-hand" Decorah weather report. Enjoy the forum, iowamom987 and please, hurry back often!

Iowamom and Cal It is truly an awesome cam and so good to see this pair looking so healthy. I agree it will be great to have others posting what they see. I guess we can expect a sleety mess and then it might get covered with some fresh snow. That is the midwest for sure. I am in the process of setting up a folder for this nest. Things are getting full with White Rock, St Vrain, Sidney and Hornby eagle visits. I will most likely get back into posting pics next week for all but ST Vrain which is all set up and ready to go.

Have a nice weekend......Sitting eagle

Just took a quick look at what was going on with the nest today. It looked like one very cold, frozen nest!! Wooh I'm sure glad there are no bobbleheads there!! Hope Mom and Dad have a cozy roost that they hide in during this kind of weather!!
