:hello: :hello: I'm back and so sorry to have left all of you 'dangling' for so long.
It has been awfully busy of late and each night as my hubby and I watch a bit of the Washington news on t.v. I think of Cindy. Man alive those poor folks sure have had a nasty winter. Storms that go on forever and power that refuses to stay on. Because I have not gone back and read many pages, I am hoping that Cindy and her hubby and family are doing ok. We have been sending silent prayers out her way, for sure.
Elaine: I have also thought of you, many times, as I would eye the apples in the store when I do my grocery shopping. From what I read on this last page, you don't have that much snow. We have very little snow here too. We do seem to get freezing rain and I am ever so grateful that I do not have to commute to the office anymore and do the white knuckle driving.
Mary: I sure hope you get enough rain to soften the soil. Being in a drought situation is not fun. Flooding is not fun, either, but wouldn't it be nice to have the weather be 'just right' for a change? I am so sorry your computer was 'hacked' too. Honestly! There are some nasty people out there who have nothing better to do. Luckily you were able to get it up and running again, and what a chore having to let everyone on your e-mail list know that this happened.
Diane: I won't be able to watch the videos of the bears as it would take up too much memory on my computer. Until we get wireless out here, I am pretty limited. Also, the iPad is a weird little machine. I cannot watch videos usually as it does not recognise FlashPlayer. For the love of Pete!!! So, I cannot send anyone on my birthday card list a card anymore unless I go into town to the library. (It's something between Apple and FlashPlayer, or whatever - I'm not computer literate enough to understand the logistics but think it is something that is between Apple and Microsoft.)
Vicki: I am so glad I caught your post. What a gorgeous kittie Munch is. He always looks so darned wise! You are keeping so busy with your job and I am sure your boss appreciates all that you do in the office. September isn't that far away now you know, so enjoy your paradise while you can and I am sure Munch will be only too pleased to be your 'hot water bottle' in a few months time.
We are busy up here. I've been helping my husband as he is putting insulation in between the rafters that separates our area from the upper level. (Soundproofing). It is a tedious job and I have to dress like a zombie as the little fibers from the stuff get all over - very itchy and I wear a mask as it really gets me to coughing. The job is nearly done though and then the drywall crew can come and install the gyprock (sheetrock). We have had to wait for the electricians to come and complete all the wiring (man alive there's a lot of wires coming out of all the different locations) and I think that next week the plumber comes back to finish up his work so that the in floor heating will be up and running.
Not sure how to send you a picture on this iPad - but will try and figure it out. I know how to take a picture, but they look very large and I don't want to screw up the forum pages. I might have to go to the Apple store to see how this could be done.
My husband's surgery is scheduled for Feb 6th and we have had many doctor appointments and even a whole day at the hospital being given lessons on what to excpect, etc. I feel like I am a nurse now! LOL LOL
I am going to close for now and get dressed. As a matter of fact I have some ironing to do and if I get cracking here, I could finish that up before heading out to help in the new house. The vacuum is calling me too!
Oh - I really like retirement. Can't believe it has already been just over a month. Where did the time go? I've been working on my quilt a bit too - but is is slow, as we end up with grandchildren over in our area a lot of the time and there isn't much space to spread out the quilt without it being in their way! Again LOL.
Please stay well everyone. I think of all of you every day - and cannot tell you enough how much I enjoy your cyber friendships.
Hugs,
Jan

Good Morning Everyone, :hello:
Vicki~~~It's so good to see you and Munch back in here again. Gosh his eyes are so pretty.:nod: Mostly my furkids are doing well. We did have a scare with our Brittany (Ginger) on Saturday. She went into a seizure in the morning. It had myself and Greg so scared. It didn't last long, but the rapid eye movement was horrible to watch. We called the vet's and he said that is pretty common for older dogs to have seizures. If she does have more we'll take her in for blood work and they can put her on medication.
Jan~~~Me thinks you and Vicki are making me want to retire. It sounds as if you and your husband have been really busy with your house. I can very well remember what insulation feels like when my husband added on to our house. Yuck!!!! Our weather has been really strange. It's in the fifties today. We haven't had the snow like usual either. I even seen my daffodils peeking out of the ground. I'll be praying for your husband and hope everything turns out alright.
It sure was so nice to come in here this morning to see both Vicki and Jan's posting.
Big Hugs to everyone.

:hello: a quick good morning to all of you!
Elaine: I would have been so worried if I had been with Ginger when she had her episode. She is such a pretty dog and so faithful. Did she seem scared? Hopefully she won't have another attack, but at least you know there is medication to help her, should it be required.
Oops, I see the electrician has arrived already (I say this with a grimace as it is really not that early in the day). Hubby is headed out to the new house and I have to prepare a casserole for supper and then I will go out and help as much as I can. :nod:
Hope all of you have a super day. :nod:

vHello all my friends. So good to hear all is well with everyone. I am up late as the landlord is building a porch on the unit I live in. It will be great and two huge windows with screens so i can get good breeze. An outside light and a buzzer so friends can make themselves heard if i am in the bedroom.
Time is going fast and after only a few days with my new boss it feels like longer. It will take us a while to get to know each other and i have to have patience. Nice that she is 50 so the age difference is not drastic and that will help.
Munch ifs fine and really loving the company of the workers outside. Nice that his kennel is high and allows him to watch them as all he has to do is jump on top of it as i pull it over to the door as i leave for work and have a padding on top. He is so spoilt!!!
Well need to go finish some chores so pray for a great day for everyone tomorrow.

:hello: Hi Vicki!!!
I just read your post and am glad you are getting such a nice porch built onto your house. From the sounds of things, you are right - Munch will enoy it too. I had to chuckle to myself - you are in a construction zone, just like us!
Have a nice evening, Vicki - thanks for your post.

Hello Everyone!! :hello::hello::hello::hello:
It seems like forever since I've had a chance to pop in .... all I read was the last page of posts, and it was great to see that each and everyone of you had been in to say hello! Seems that there is a lot going on with all of you .... :nod:
Elaine ~ I certainly hope that Ginger's blood work comes back okay. Seizures are so scary ... Keeping you and that situation in my thoughts and prayers! It also sounds as if you have had a bit of an odd winter weather wise ... wonder what is going on with all the cold air staying so far north I did hear one weather forecaster say that it may start to 'sink' south in a couple of weeks ... not that I want any more winter in our area, but I know some areas could use the moisture or summer is going to be horrible for them .... Horror of horrors happened today while I was outside ... a huge 'hornet' landed on my hand!!! Yikes .... I know it's been warmer than average, but we did have that ice storm and all, so was hoping it had taken care of them until at least late spring ....
Jan ~ I know nothing about those iPads ... I did take some photos with several of them at our Christmas program for my parents; they seem like a pretty nifty gadget. We were Macintosh people for years, but moved on over to PC's a number of years ago because of the problems using certain things that they kids needed while doing work in high school and college ... I'm not computer savvy at all, so I'd never be able to figure one of those out. I'm still trying to figure out my smart phone, and I got that last May :oops: .... Sounds as if the house is coming right along! So happy to hear you are enjoying retirement. I must admit, it is looking sweeter to me all the time.
Vicki ~ Glad to hear that you will soon be enjoying a new porch! Additional room for you and Munch. He is such a beautiful cat ... I hope that he enjoys his time watching all the workers making 'his addition' to the house. I can only imagine anymore having a boss ... been my own now since 1990, and must admit that I really enjoy it. I hope the transition there for you goes well ...
Mary ~ I've yet to figure out :dunno: why people insist on hacking others computers ... guess they are just not happy unless they are causing others angst :no: ... at least it wasn't worse than it was and you were able to fix it. Watching that many eagle nests must be very time consuming, but it must be a lot of fun to watch all the different ways the parents and eaglets interact with one another. We've seen quite a few eagles around our place lately, so they must be coming back to the area now ...
Diane ~ I haven't checked out Jewel and her cubs yet ... how wonderful it is that we get to have all these cams to see how all the different animals and birds do things ... :nod: Love that ostrich photo as well ... always make me smile
Sandi ~ Always enjoy your posts ... sometimes I feel as though I have been watching the discovery channel after seeing many of the photos from different places in the world. I'm not much of a traveler at all, so enjoy seeing all the different places that there are out there ... and the funnies are good too.
I still haven't been up to getting photos on here ... have them on the old computer finally, and will need to get them ready to post. Pete and BobCat are doing well. They enjoy the fact that I am 'down' more than I am 'up' and busy these days. They are my little support system for sure ... along with my hubby of course. The grand girls are growing so quickly, and are on the verge of crawling!! Our first grandson is due the 13th, so we are all anxious to meet him in person. Will try my best to work on some photos ... today we spent our first day on storm debris clean up ... we sure have a lot of work ahead of us ... but are thankful that none of the trees fell on our house, deck or cars ... many were not so lucky.
Take care friends ... a big to each and every one of you!!
for now ....
Resolve to be tender with the young;
Compassionate with the aged;Sympathetic with the striving;
And tolerant of the weak and wrong.
Sometime in your life you will have been all of these.
Have a wonderful day!
