Hello all you people at Daily Beat.

Jan, iguana's are usually vicious. If you cornered one and teased it, ya he might run at you. Never heard of anyone getting bit by one though. He would eat the birds and/lor eggs.

Here is an update of the Mocking Birds. They think my camera is food. The second picture is when they realised it was not food and cuddled back down to sleep. Cute as the dickens...

Good Morning Everyone, wavewave

Jan~~~I was also amazed at how careful the adult eagles are. Especially when they are trying to feed the little ones. If the piece isn't small enough they will keep tearing it apart until it is. It sure is fun to watch.

Vicki~~~Well I guess I wouldn't be teasing an iguana, but they are very pretty. I'm just glad he didn't get those baby birds. Those thorns really show up in the pictures. I don't think I'd be poking my hands in those trees. Those little ones sure can stretch their necks out for food.

We had some nice weather over the week-end, so I went out and cleaned most of my bird houses out. Mostly from my little wren friends. Found tiny feathers, bits of plastic, twigs and quite a few twigs from the pine trees. I haven't seen a robin yet, but the red-wing blackbirds and the starlings are back. Opened up the back door this morning to let the dogs out and got a strong whiff of Skunk. Phew!!! That will clear up your sinuses. I do believe spring is just around the corner.

They seem to think Mom laid another egg last night at Sidney. She sure likes to lay in the dark, the little stinker. Trying to get my work done, so I can watch.

Wishing everyone a happy Monday.

Good Morning! wave

I don't have a lot of time to spend, but wanted to check in....

Elaine ~
There are definitely TWO eggs at Sidney....Left thumb upGrin I did take time to check that out this morning. The season is well underway now! Smile
Pheweeeeeee....the smell of skunk :blink:first thing in the morning.... Must have cleared the 'ole sinuses right out....

Vicki ~
Love the little Mockingbirds. Nodding We had those where we lived in California, but none here. We would get dive bombed by the parent birds as we had to walk past their nest to get to our apartment....they were very territorial....

Jan ~
Had a good time with my daughter, even though we didn't  get to go the UW to take photos...rainy day so we went shopping instead Shh She was married two years ago the end of April. My son was the one that was just recently married; the end of September.

Mary ~
I keep a couple of pots of catnip by the back door...BobCat is a HUGE fan TongueTitter Even Pete sniffs at it, and then looks at me like what's the big deal Roll eyes

I came down with a horrible sinus and double ear infection, but thankfully am feeling much better now. I was so happy to have made it through fall and the holidays without any of this stuff, and then two of them Sadback to back....blah!! I'm hoping spring will be here soon, and all the munchkins and I will be healthy!! Nodding

Off and running...lots of errands to get done today....

I'll put a couple of recent photos up of the critters...Pete in his St. Patrick's Day scarf, and in one of them he is winking!Oh My In all the years I've had this dog, I've never seen that before. Roll eyes The others will be of BobCat...he has such expressive ways with his whiskers...had to share...giggle

Have a great dayNoddingNodding

vivki and cindy - thanks for the pics - and elaine - I love the way you called Ma Sidney a stinker! LOL Boy! if she heard you say that in eagle talk - you'd be in BIG trouble!

I am back in training mode - and 'wait' mode - I'm beginning to not like end of the month stuff anymore.

Cindy - glad you are getting over your sinus/ear stuff - and also glad you had a nice time with your dd (darling daughter). I've been meaning to ask - how ARE the newly weds doing? Pics of critters are so nice...and yes LOOK at those whiskers. I think Pete is saying 'top 'o the mornin' to ya' - don't you?

I am staying well away from any iguanas, vicki - I didn't realize they were not nice....

Those wee baby birds are so adoreable - can't wait to see a baby eagle again.

Gotta go - have a nice afernoon, all.

Good Morning Everyone, wavewave

Now Jan, don't you be telling Mom eagle what I said. No I guess I'm going to have to be more careful on what I say about her. Don't want to be getting in trouble with her. Titter I was so hoping that we could see her lay an egg. I have never liked Month end stuff around here either. And year end is even worse. That will be coming up for me the end of April. Last year we were all done running apples by then, but this year we will still be packing.

Aw Cindy, I do believe that Pete is flirting with us. Nodding He knows how much we love him. You tell him I winked right back at him. love Boy, BobCat's whiskers do stand out and he does look so soft. There was also that much content look on his face in that first picture. love I know sinus infections are never any fun, but I've never had an ear infection before. My poor son had them one right after another when he was little. He even went into convulsions two times with a high fever. That was so scary, especially the first time it happened. He finally grew out of them, thank goodness. I bet you had such a good time shopping with your daughter. I love going shopping with my daughter. We have a lot of fun together.

I'm still looking for my first robin, but haven't seen any yet. Don't Know Hopefully it won't be much longer. We even have thunderstorms in the forecast. That should bring up those worms that they like so well.

Need to get back on the job. Wishing everyone a fun-filled eagle watching day.

good morning all wave

elaine: I'll never tell Ma Eagle, if you don't! she is such a good mom, too. Hope this is a good season for her and pa.

I can just see you now - out in the yard - peering all around for a robin or two Titter They are such interesting birds to watch. Very good hearing, I tell ya!

We had a scary newcomer arrive at the feeder on Sunday. There were dozens of small birds eating at the different feeders. I was near to the window, but not looking out of it, when something suddenly hit the outside window. When I went to the front door and opened it - there was a small hawk !

It saw me, as it sat on the top of the bird feeder post - and just stared at me, without blinking. However, when I shooed it away, it flew off.

There were two little woodpeckers eating suet. One on a wooden suet feeder and another on one of the big trees. For 45 minutes after the hawk left, they did not move. If a person didn't know it - you would have thought they were ornaments. Not a blink of an eye or a feather moved.

All the other little birds had disappeared too! After about 45 min. some chickadees returned and then as the movement and noise of the other birds picked up - the two woodpeckers flew away. They must have been so terrified! Nodding

How are your chickens doing (or should I say your neighbour's chickens who love you?)

Cindy - I think you could write a childrens story book on your Pete and Bobcat antics. Their facial expressions and humanlike traits would make for an interesting read for kids.

Gotta go now - sun is coming up and it is going to be a nice day.

I hope everyone is feeling alright today.

Jan wave

My gosh Jan, you really had some excitement going on in your yard. EEK!!!!!
That hawk must have been dive-bombing for a little bird. Would have been amazing to see how the other birds reacted. A few years back the chickens were making a lot of racket out back and I went to look out my window and spotted a small hawk nearby. The chickens were making a lot of noise but they went under the pine tree to hide. Speaking of the (Neighbors ) chickens. They kind of come and go now that the snow has melted. We still have snow in shady areas, but they can travel back and forth. Bad thing is that one of the roosters started chasing another rooster. This happens a lot when there are too many roosters. They fight to the death and there's not too much one can do to stop it. One year we had two roosters fighting out back and the next day they were both dead in our yard. Sad
I don't like that part of it at all.

I've been watching the Norfolk nest this morning as one is suppose to hatch today. They've had some beautiful up close shots of the nest. Such a beautiful sight.

Wishing you a beautiful day Jan. wave
