mornin' everone
Elaine: The hummers we get in the summertime will actually chase the wasps from the feeders - I never saw anything like it. Good thing they can zip back/forth, in/out like they do - cuz those wasps were ticked off and tried to fight back. (They say you can't fight a moving target - and those hummers sure did move!)
My mom always told us that the reason the kitties test the water with their paws is because that's the 'wild' that comes out in them. A wild kitty (cat) checks the water before drinking (either by sniffing or using their paw) to make sure the water is safe to drink. (I like to believe that story).
Have a nice day all.

Good evening everyone.
Garlic Plant - This only blooms once a year and it is gorgeous in areas where people have let it climb up the cement on the outside wall of a home. It smells only in the evening - and yes, it smells like garlic which is where it got's name. It does not bear any garlic for eating and I am not sure where it comes from.

Vicki...Now that I think about it, we have a potted plant on the patio that is locally known as Society Garlic. It's a pretty dense plant and does have many purple blooms during the warm months...and it smells like garlic. The flowers are not the beautiful, full bunches like your plant but I bet they are related!
