Thank you all for your really kind comments! It is such a joy to be out there and be lucky to be at the right place at the right time.

Scott- thank you, we really share the same passion of photography, maybe we can do something together one day? Would really like to meet you

mjb- you re so kind and appreciative, I will keep on posting whenever possible! Your words are so inspiring, thank you!

Coccat9 - Yes, it is the new tele-lens which I bought on ebay used, I got a good deal there, really lucky. Now it is really possible to get close to these shy eagles without disturbing them and their environment

Woodlands Bleu - (Carolyn) - Yes, it is fun, I will post more of the sequences, this was only a small selection to get going. Thank you

Socal Eaglefan - Thank you, I will post a few more portraits

Golden1 - Yes thank you, lots more to follow

Eaglenut - Thank you Tina, Happy New Year to you, maybe we will finally meet this year Very Happy

OK, now more from yesterday. I actually fired away more than 1,200 images - seems crazy, yes it is! The reason was that I happened to be at the right place at the right time (pure luck) and also I was testing my new lens and was not sure if I could operate it correctly and changed a lot of settings - to my surprise nearly all images were sharp and clear, better than I could ever have imagined.

So let me share my lucky day with you Grin

In the morning I arrived at Sandpiper Golf course at 9am and noticed how the eagle population had rapidly decreased when compared to the beginning of December.

Before throwing away the day I went to the lovely restaurant and indulged in the breakfast classic for $5. Try it, you get loads of pancakes and bacon and with some coffee the depression goes away quickly. After that I walked over to the water and caught a rather interesting sequence, it is far away but look what the eagle does to avoid conflict...look at the following 8 images...
