I enjoyed my stroll thur your pictures, Scott. Smile

I loved the grandeur of the Heron's flight action. That Northern Harrier shot was perfect for detail.

Perfect ending to the day as well....... coming across the Sitting eagle . Grin

Mt. Cheam is looking more handsome with each snowfall; altho i'll miss it's deep bluish shade of summer. Nodding

Wonderful pics Scott.
Sorry I haven't been here for a bit. I can't believe how close that small bird was to the eagle. But then again, what's a little pest to a big eagle. Excellent photos of the hawks. Stupid question...is that a tire dump? Chin They sure are arranged awfully neat and tidy.

Hi Iona, Linda, Sue, LiLori, Lori, Naoma, & Candy. Hello
Thanks for poppin' in. Smile

That isn't a stupid question at all Candy. It is a common site on a lot of farms around here. I think they put plastic over the large piles of fertilizer and then use old tires to keep the plastic from blowing off. I've seen bales of hay protected the same way. I will try to remember to ask around to find out for sure.

Thanks Scott. That's the first time I have ever seen that. Not that I get around much. Grin

I checked 8 eagle's nests today, but most were unoccupied.
This Red-tailed Hawk was perched near the Far Away nest with the sun behind it. No eagles at that nest, nor the Prest Rd. nest.

I need an id on this hawk please. As I was driving to the next nest I saw it land in this tree. No eagles at the Panorama nest.

It was kind enough to turn around to give me a better view.

Off to the Yale Rd. nest and one adult was perched above the nest, along with several smaller birds.

Next up was the nest on Ferry Rd. I spotted an adult perched in the nest tree, then noticed the other one soaring high overhead.
I moved to a few different spots, but can't get any closer to this nest. Both adults started flying very low through the trees then landing near the nest, then doing it all over again. That was fun to watch.
I couldn't get any clear pics of that unfortunately. One adult eventually flew off while the other stayed near the nest.
