News is that this ISN"T our pair from last year
We have an eagle cam this season equipped with live video so you can watch the American bald eagles build their nests, lay and incubate their eggs, and raise their young in late February through May.
The cam is at the Fort St. Vrain Station, Platteville, Colo. This 6 foot-wide and 5 foot-deep nest has been active for many years and the Colorado Division of Wildlife bands young birds at the nest site each spring. Last year, this nest fledged two baby bald eagles. This past summer, a brand-new pair of eagles chose this power plant's nest as the perfect home to raise its family. We can't wait to see what they'll produce!
Nesting activities begin soon, so make sure to follow us on Twitter to get the most recent updates on the eagle families.

Well something is up since none of my usual paths to the site are bringing it up. I accessed some info on an entirely new page with a new format for us to explore. They must be working on it because none of the eagle cam indicators that I have been using take me anywhere. The html on the first page does access the new page that came up today. EDT It takes you to an eagle explanation page but no working link to the cam.
Jannice things do look different. I wish they would give more info on the eagles as a totally new pair seems a bit strange to me. I have been seeing the brown spot on Ma's head near her eye. If the male has 2 bands it may be the same male will have to keep checking on that.
It does not seem that everything is working yet. Some of the click ons take you somewhere some do not and the eagle cam is not coming up at all for me. Maybe a matter of time.
After you click on the daily pics, it takes a bit but then they come up as you scroll down the page. They run from 8 a.m to 9 p.m. There seem to be 6 for each hour. I am hoping that that will increase in time.

Good Morning Sv eagle watchers. It is a sunny blue sky day here. The temps will be in the mid 50's.
Jannice I will be disappointed also if we only have 6 dailies per hour. I am going to wait and see what happens today since it seems to be a work in progress. My other hope is that the night cam will be on all night or at least from 5:30 a.m to 10 p.m. The eagles are up early once the eaglets hatch. There is so much to observe then.
Right now the only place I can access the nest is at raptor resource on the nest cam page.
It seems to be wait and see. Keep me posted if you find any information. I will be around most of today but tomorrow I am off all day.

Hi Cal, glad you found your way around the new pages.
There was one eagle in the nest at 9:40 and 11:50. Here is a pic of one visiting at 3:10.

It is a beautiful day here. It is in the mid 50's. Feels nice and warm.

Wow - lots going on here! Thanks for staying on top of all the changes, Donna, Jannice and CAL.
I also wonder what leads them to think this is a new pair - though we know that does happen. Perhaps they'll have more information when they finish working on their website.
