Jan 5, 2011 It was in the 20's overnight and will warm up into the high 40's today. It is partly cloudy.

Judy I am sure hoping for sound. After listening to the Decorah eagles yesterday, I really would love to hear Aspen and Haven talking to each other.

No sighting of eagles at the nest yet this morning. I will be off mid day and will certainly miss the daily pix.

Jannice thanks for checking with Amy. Maybe she will give you an update soon.

Jannice I am so glad you were there to catch that pic. Looks like the warm up is melting some of the snow.

I was gone longer than I thought so I am happy to see the visit by one of the eagles.

Another sunny day and warm......low 50's. It was breezy. I did not spot the eagles when I checked in today.
I will be gone most of the day tomorrow.

Great pictures - thanks, Donna!

I'm afraid I have a bit of a concern - a friend sent me a few s'caps from around 6:00 - 6:15 of a raccoon visiting the nest.

Comparing the size to the size of the eagles, I'm thinking/hoping it's a curious young raccoon, and having checked out the nest, won't be back. But I am going to be a bit nervous for a couple of days - a raccoon isn't likely to be a problem this time of year, but is a real threat to eggs and chicks. Fortunately it should be a while before this nest has either, and it seems unlikely that it will stay too long without something more interesting than old turtle shells to munch on. Fingers crossed.
