June 18, 2011 low 50's overnight. high 70's today. Thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.

8:26 We have an empty nest.

9:09 empty nest.

12:15 empty nest.

1:50 I can see one juvie on a branch over 8.

Here is a March pic of the nest. Look at how the 3 side is almost non existent now.


The stills show that 1 juvie was on and off the nest during the morning. I could not tell which one, but most likely it was Glory.

Jannice and Carolyn it is very happy news to have them branching and flying and returning to the nest. Early this morning I checked and they were on the nest sound asleep and so close to each other.

4:34 Mom, I think, lands on the nest with food at 5.


She is very alert and watchful, but no newbie juvies arrive to eat.


This continues until 4:53 When mom leaves the nest with the food in her rt. talon.


This could mean that Glory may have also fledged today or is in the tree but not able to work his way back to the nest. Mom ate some but I thought she was inticing the juvies to return for food on the nest.

5:24 empty nest.

6:01 Mom at 10 with food.


6:04 to 6:09 Mom eats watchfully.

6:10 From the one side one juvie is approaching the nest. It lands near the food at 10 moving mom out of the way and to 12. Juvie moves food to 6 and stands over it. Begins to eat.


6:12 Mom does some house cleaning moving a stick to the 9 side of the nest. Then she exits over 10.

6:23 Glory, I think from tummy markings, is the juvie at 6. He continues to be alert and eats.


If my id is correct Glory has indeed fledged.

6:15 to 6:46 Juvie eats at 6.

6:46 Juvie moves the prey to 12.

6:59 Picks up prey and flies about the nest with it and then lands again at 12.

7:00 to 7:09 The juvie does big wing flights all over the nest. Also stands on the fence with wings outstretched.


7:09 moves to 9 and then flies up to the branch over 8.

7:33 Mom at 12 and Juvie at 6 with food.


7:36 Juvie moves the food to 12. Mom exits over 5.

7:59 Mom and glory are at 5 eating together. Mom is feeding him a furry critter. Glory also self feeds.



8:02 glory takes a piece and moves to 2 with it.

8:04 Glory moves around to 5 and begins to wait and snatch at the food. Mom keeps eating. Glory keeps snatching food.

8:18 Both continue to eat at 4 and 3. Glory has a very full crop.
