The eaglets spent most of the day resting along the fence. They were not fed after 8:50 a.m. and no parent visited the nest after that time. They were really well fed on the 31st. I watched at dusk expecting to see the parents make their nightly visit but they did not come.

June 2, 2011 high 50's overnight and into the mid 80's today.

I am thinking that there has been food brought into the nest this morning before 7:24 when I found the cam on.

The eaglets are at 11/12 working on a nestover. Glory steals it from Scout moving the food to 10. Then Scout takes it back.



Then I think Glory is at 7 preening while Scout is feeding at 12 and then at 2. I am not sure about the id since I have only seen the back of the eaglet at 2.

8:24 Dad is on the nest at 12. The eaglets are still looking for food or preening.

8:33 Dad moves to 3 and begins to eat a furry critter. Glory goes over and is chased away. Glory does big wings several times and goes back to feed again and is again turned away. Dad keeps eating.


Scout stays on the fence at 7. Glory moves to 9 and the eaglets watch Dad eat. Is this a lesson in eagle etiquette? Is dad teaching the eaglets that they have to wait and then go for the leftovers?

Interesting, Donna! I'd think it more likely that he's trying to teach them that if they want the food, they'd better grab it - etiquette really doesn't work well for eaglets! But each nest is different, so one never knows.

Thanks for all the reports - wish I could find time to watch them more often, but it is great that I can stop by and get a summary!

Boy I sure hope they don't flap around to much with all the wind there is today the nest is really swaying around

Great video again, Jannice. It is going to be windy all day so they best hang on or go flat. lol

That darn Scout is trying to give me a heart attack getting in the air and close to the edge

He spent a good hour or more on the fence at 3 as high and far out as he could get. I looked to see if there is a branch there but there is not one right next to 3 so he was on the fence.



I kept waiting for Glory to move, but this shows where Scout is.
