Juvie atop tree at north end of Drayton Harbor on 2-25-10. I am not seeing any juvies in the same area as adults. Over the past month, I’ve observed as many as three juvies in snags on the Semiahmoo Spit and as many as four adults in snags on the spit. However, I have not noticed any juvies and adults in the same area on the same day.

Semiahmoo Spit, 2-27-10. Light rain was falling today, but there was still lots of eagle activity on three lone snag trees on the Semiahmoo Spit. First photo shows eagle on snag at north end of spit while looking back to a second eagle atop a snag in the middle of the spit. Final two photos are of eagle on middle snag. Clickables

Semiahmoo Spit, 2-27-10. This lone eagle atop snag tree at north end of Semiahmoo Spit will soon be joined by its mate who is rapidly approaching from the north (see next set of photos). Clickables.

Semiahmoo Spit, 2-27-10. Landing zone. The following photos, taken in the cameras’ burst mode, show a second eagle about to join its friend atop the snag tree at the north end of the Semiahmoo Spit. A blue sky would have made for a better picture. I also wish I would have been a little bit closer, but I can’t complain too much. Clickables

Semiahmoo Spit, 2-27-10. Proving there’s always room for another eagle on a limb, our two matures share some time together atop snag at north end of Semiahmoo Spit on a very cloudy day. Clickables

Semiahmoo Spit, 2-27-10. This water tower is at the north end of the Semiahmoo Spit, and I’m sure dates back to the 1930s when Alaska Packers operated a salmon cannery on the spit. This set of three photos was taken in burst mode.

Semiahmoo Spit, 2-27-10. The next three photos were taken at the south end of the Semiahmoo Spit, a little more than one mile south of the water tower in the previous set of photos. This marked a rare day on which I was able to get photos of eagles on snags in the middle of the spit as well as those on the north and south ends.
