Kolob Canyon, Zion National Park, 3-19-10. Trip almost over as we pull into Zion in late afternoon. Not 100 percent sure of identification of this bird. It seems to have some characteristics of a mountain bluebird, a gray-breasted jay and a western- scrub jay. Clickables First you must follow before you lead. |

Kolob Canyon, continued: One final photo from 3-19-10. Same bird as in previous post, but this photo reminds me of an ornament atop a Christmas tree. Clickable First you must follow before you lead. |

Lake Padden * A Bellingham City Park * This is a 900 acre park that includes trails, baseball fields, pavilions, and the central jewel is the 152 acre Lake Padden. Here are a few pictures from my brief visit to the park yesterday. Doug Bellingham, Washington |

Hi Doug: We're really lucky to have these urban areas to explore while we wait for the snow to melt and for the mountain trails to open. I'll add Padden to my list. -- Ed First you must follow before you lead. |

Breakfast in Zion National Park, 3-20-10, I believe this to be a red-tailed hawk that was easy to spot as we returned to the park in the morning. This is one of two hawks that were feeding on road kill on Utah Highway 9 near North Fork Road. Clickables First you must follow before you lead. |
