Doug just posted that the new cam is being installed, they are setting up now, cleaning the cams and trimming a branch so we can still see people waving a flag from their house.

1.25 Hi all. They have cleaned the cams and are trying to figure out how to put up the infared. There is a lot of rotted wood, so securing it in the right place is becoming a problem. Will see what happens next!!
ETA: The brave man in the picture risking his safety is Darian.

1.40 Well, they made a heroic effort, but they couldn't secure the infared in a good viewing place.
Doug posted on the chat site: "Well, that's it. We tried, but didn't succeed. We still have two excellent cameras and a pleasant view. Now we need some eagles." Amen to that!

Thanks Jill for the s'caps of Darian in the nest. (gives a perspective on how big Ma and Pa really are :blink: ) Thanks also for letting us know they won't be putting the IR in...safety first!

I've been in and out all day, so missed most of the activity going on, but managed to grab a s'cap before I had to run out the door again....once I found a cam that was working.

This is the mount for the would be IR cam.



I did read in chat while that was going on that Doug was having trouble finding a suitable place to mount it. OH well...at least we have a CU and WA to look at still. although night vision would have been da bomb! But didn't know for sure till I got home and didn't see it mounted anywhere...and read what Jill said here. Maybe they can reconfigure things and get it up next year.

Dan and Darian dropped a few "F" bombs? Guess Doug forgot to remind them they were on cam...LIVE!

Hey beans!

Thanks for the video. I think 'brave' is an understatement. There is nothing in this world that would get me up in any tree that high! BUT I'm glad there are people like Dan and Darian that are willing to go the extra mile to help out.

Now we have a clear view (for now ) to watch Ma and Pa do their magic again this year.
