"there's no place like home (aka NEST)"...... 3 RTs in their nest this morning!!! at least the youngest wasn't alone all night!!!
yesterday I became very aware of how well they are camouflaged in that nest.....when they were all settled down, their brown and white coloring just disappeared into the brown and white!!! nest!!! amazing.

Good morning everyone! Just a quick fly by, great to be home and will hopefully download my pictures in the next day or two.

So glad to hear SJ is doing so well. I know the feeling of wanting to be in your own bed. I was very happy to do that after my long trip where I was in 9 different beds in 3 weeks. Yikes!!

Had a wonderful photographic time at the LaFarge nest, with fsirly good pictures of all 3 lets and one adult. Had a drive by the Sydney nest and got to see one adult next to the new tree, no heads poling out of the nest and no pictures allowed, but it looks like a happy tree they are in.

Good morning Nesters

I had fun Thurs. afternoon visiting my youngest grandkids; grandson is 4 and granddaughter is almost 1 year old. She is walking a few steps on her own and has 6 teeth. We looked like twins; we have the same hair colour and we had the same colour T-shirts on. She is such a cutie and a very good natured baby Wub My grandson is just like his Dad was; always on the go and always wanting to learn about everything Wub

We went out for brekkie yesterday morning and then went to the lagoon. I took lots of pics of the swans and then visited the Royal Roads eagle nest. I didn't see any action in or around the nest but as we were getting back in the car I spotted an adult flying over the trees near the nest. It snapped off a small branch and flew towards the nest. Off we went down the road again to the nest site but again didn't see any eagles. I am pretty sure I saw a yellow beak through the branches in the nest but unfortunately didn't capture it in any of my pictures Roll eyes I've posted some on the Royal Roads University eagles thread. I will post some pics of the swans on the wildlife thread later and you can see them by clicking the link in my sig. line.

Debs hope your drive to your grandkids house was a safe one :thumrht: Have fun playing Grin So glad to hear Judy/sj is feeling a lot better. Hope she doesn't have to wait much longer for the good news from her Dr. that she can go home :cheerguy:

John hope your meeting is a good one Smile

Bev I watched Squeak for awhile this morning but she didn't move off the nest and looked very sleepy Wub Great s'caps of the RT hawklets, especially the one with its wings stretched out :thumrht:

Gail nice to have you visit our nest; wonderful s'caps of the RT hawklets :thumrht:

Vicki glad to hear you are home safe and sound. It's always good to get home and sleep in your own bed  I'll look forward to seeing some of your pictures.

Marg lovely pics of your flowers and the moon Clapping

jwnix the RT hawklets are indeed fun to watch but it does get scary sometimes thinking they are going to fall offWhistling

Some goodies for your coffee/tea break today. hug to all Nesters; have a good Monday.

and to think some have pot bellied pigs as house pets!!! I would not let "Jack" in my home!!! he's huge!!

when the youngest chick had the ledge to itself yesterday it seemed to take advantage of the space and did LOTS of vigorous flapping and marching up and down the ledge. i got caught up in watching it for a bit and just laughed at it.....
i kept waiting for the nest to go overboard, as they continue to add to the outside edge of it over the last weeks. clearly they know what they are doing!! ;-) hawk engineering!!!

This is Wilbur, the other Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. He and Jack were originally someone's pets and were donated to the park. I couldn't get Wilbur to turn around; he was too busy drinking and snorting Roll eyes
