Good afternoon Nesters

Sorry I haven't been here on my perch much the past few days very embarrassed I've read most of the posts and I'm trying to keep up with everyone's news.

Yikes, it just started hailing here and it's making quite a racket hitting the windows Oh My I'll be so happy to head south on Apr. 14th and hope the cold & rainy weather doesn't follow me Mad So many things to think about before the cruise; out this afternoon to get my hair done, manicure and pedicure next week. Yesterday was hubby's birthday; after he spent the morning at work then went to renew the car insurance, we went out for dinner. I spent most of the morning trying to catch up on some TV programs I had taped; Hope for Wildlife and a lot of other wonderful programs on Oasis HD channel. It costs extra on my cable bill but it is well worth it. Hope and Dr. Barry were here on the west coast visiting the sea mammal rehab. facility in Vancouver and visiting North Island Wildlife Rehab. facility near Parksville on Vancouver Island. I have been there many times and I send some of my wildlife pictures to Sylvia, who is the owner with her husband Robin Campbell. They are wonderful people Right thumb up

It's heartbreaking to hear that Richard's time on this earth will soon come to an end Cry Hanky He is a wonderful man and has given so much of his life to David and HWF. His expertise has been very much appreciated by so many forum members. I don't know if anyone will be able to fill his big shoes Cry David was very upset on Tues. when I was with him. He had spent an hour at the hospital with Richard and was visibly shaken by Richard's condition and the reality that he will soon be gone.

I was invited to join David & Karen on Tues. at one of our local elementary schools where David did a presentation on Salmon Eagles and More. Six year old Sam, who attends the school, used to watch Ma & Pa Sidney on the cam every morning before he went to school and again when he got home from school. He was at the Esquimalt Lagoon where I visit quite often, and heard an eagle calling. He looked up and saw both of them at the nest, which is across the lagoon and 5 minutes down the road from his school. He asked his friends to send donations to HWF instead of giving him gifts for his 7th birthday and HWF received $250 in Sam's name. David also received another $240 on Tues. from the students and the school. You can read about it and see my photos here on the Royal Roads University Eagles thread.

Will do catchup in the next post. I want to get this one posted before I lose it Whistling

sj sending good thoughts and lots of hugs for you and Steve hug and hope you are feeling better hug

Debs Hope you've recovered from your anniversary party Faint I love your s'caps of the West End family; the chicks are so cute at that age. We stopped at Catalina Is. a couple of years ago on our cruise and took a tour of the island. The tour guide talked quite a bit about the bald eagle population but we didn't go by either of the nests. It's so nice to see the eagle population thriving Clapping The NCTC eaglet sure has a huge crop in your s'cap Oh My Looks like its about to fall over and do a face plant Laugh Presley Pants sure knows how to have fun; she's such a cutie hug

Bev I can't believe how fast Phoebe's chicks are growingWooh I see a huge difference if I don't watch them for just 1 day Oh My Great s'caps of Squeak and her babies. I love the Anna's hummers and we have them everywhere in my area. It's so nice to see your face in Debs' quilt Nodding Now I will know you when we meet in Halifax in May. I love your pic this morning of the harbor and the lighthouse. It looks beautiful. Do the cruise ships pass that lighthouse? We will be stopping in Sydney the day after Halifax. I'm enjoying all your photos of your flowers Right thumb up

Diana your collage for sj is beautiful; I love it hug You are very talented. I have met a lot of our Nesters and it is so nice to see the other Nesters' faces Right thumb up Looks like you and your beautiful family had a wonderful time celebrating your birthday hug

John our weather here is very dull and gloomy today, but now I see some blue sky Clapping Please keep us informed if you hear any more news about the 'destroyers of the eagle tree' Mad

Lonette I hope you were not affected by the tornadoes hug Hope your Mom is doing better.

Thank you Diana and Debs for your collages.Clapping Diana, would it be possible to put my wonderful Ma & Pa Stalashen (the nest that we look through our telescope at and visit in person) on the collage - that would make me very happy.
Thank you everyone who has submitted pictures they are all great!
John, glad that you are still out for your walks, Mr. SC said let's go out have our walk then a coffee after - I didn't feel like going out but was treated to eagles soaring and one flying over near the coffee shop. The lady at the coffee shop presented me with a beautiful happy face on my cappuccino, I thanked her and said she had "made my day"!

Have a great day Nesters.

Good Afternoon Nesters.....

Marg, Kay and everyone I agree with you about how hard it is to accept losing Richard. He has impacted all of us in such positive ways and he will be sorely missed.

I am thrilled to see the faces of all y'all as I stated previously and also very excited to see Bev's as now I know what this special, beautiful lady looks like!

Kay, your trip sounds delightful. Where do you go after Sydney? Is this into Canada through the St. Lawrence?

We go in August to Nova Scotia and will be traveling around by car on the Northern end by the Cape Breton National Park and possibly some other spots and really look forward to seeing a certain friend there too - what a bonus!

Y'all are the best.......much love from down here in Texas. (I always tell Bev she is "up there" and it is a running joke we have).
hugs, and SJ a special hug......
