Good morning Nesters!
John, so glad you had no damage to your place and you and your wife are o.k. Our son in Kitsilano was without power most of the day and he had to go to a local coffee shop to do his work on his computer! Mr. SC had watched the news broadcast about Campbell River that's why I was concerned. Thanks Debs, I didn't send John an email because I thought his power would be out and I may have exaggerated a little bit about the size of the waves. We were supposed to go to Vancouver yesterday to meet our two sons for lunch but that was postponed.
Judy, SJ, do hope that your are improving day by day.
Jude, hope you and Mr. Dew are fine.
Bev, I do stop by your thread (and I see there's another one in Victoria also) but don't post often.
Kay, glad you were o.k. and I hope Chip and Ma are fine. Kay, my close friend went to Honolulu for 2 weeks but the 2nd week the weather was NOT good - she got home a couple of days before they had "golf ball" size hail there.
I did see Ma & Pa Stalashen in the nest yesterday (most of the day the nest wasn't visible due to the weather).

Vicki, wouldn't it be nice if we could all come for a visit to escape this weather. How is munchkins?
Diana, your kitties are growing they are so cute, we have a new cat in the neighbourhood that visits our yard it is white with a little black on it. I'll try to take a picture of it.
Have a great day Nesters - I will keep a lookout for the doggies...... and send them on their way.

GOOD MORNING NESTER FRIENDS,
I feel like I have been away a long time, but I have just had so much to do and cope with.
SJ - WOW another one down the drain!! I pray you will have just a very Special Week this time and very little discomfort from the chemo. You have been so strong and it has paid off so keep up the great positive thinking and we are right there with you with loads of broad shoulders. You can throw every negative feeling and thought our way and we will do the kicking butt for a while until you gain more strength and get feeling great.
DEBS - so sorry you are still not over that bug and yes, I know how yucky the anti-biotics can make you feel but they are necessary. You have the right to kick butt too, maybe SJ could tell all of us her secret in that.
JOHN - WOW that was quite a storm Campbell River had. My daughter called me and said they had to drive through town to get some propane to be able to cook some warm food as the electricity was still out after 13 hours. Huge trees uprooted, some roofs actually off the houses, lots of shingles lost and other major damage. With 132 KPH winds, i can just imagine how terrible it must have been. That is what Ivan did to us - higher winds, but it stalled over us for 13 hours also. A horrible experience. You must have been busy cleaning up the yards after. Trust none of your family were hurt.
I have been off work for 2 days. Have had company on Island and took 2 days vacation. Feels good and was timely too, because yesterday i had to go out to the clinic and get the first shot of Enbrel. They made me sit there for an hour as I have such horrible reactions to things. I was absolutely fine, and had no problems at all, so that is a blessing i really needed right now. Hopefully this stuff will work. I have had such terrible pain and although the Methatrexate was helping a lot, my ESR was still riding between 80 and 110 and should be between 1-30 for my age group. So I really know this is the last try for something to work for me. The rheumatologist said I should be walking a few miles after 3 months on this Embrel. A shot once a week, so lets hope so. I don't even have the energy these days to walk the driveway - going to work and coming home are my limits. I need SJ here to teach me how to kick serious butt.
Have had the Landlord trying to finish my porch in bits and starts. He is building another apartment at the back of their house and seems to have forgotten he started stuff here. It has been 3 months and still no roof in the porch and it is not yet painted. He finally came in after 6 months and fixed the bathroom taps after they finally just fell off.
I have had company on Island from Sunday and they leave tomorrow so we have had lots of fun visiting times and see the tourists spots, and of course the Dolphins are my favorite.
My senior friends from Germany that used to live here for 35 years are coming next Wednesday (21s) for 5 weeks so that will be some fun time. They wanted to come to see me as when I move back to Canada I may not see them again. So I have also taken off next Wed. Thursd. and Friday then will take some more time off through out their stay. I go to Canada on 19t May to 2 June so that will be time for me to get some things sorted re: moving back there in October (about the 15th probably). As hard as it will be to leave Cayman it will be a refreshing move for me. I will miss the warmth, but to cozy up for the winter in front of a fireplace might be kinda nice too.
I have found one of the cat carry bags on wheels for Munch. I will buy it on my next trip to the USA. Cheaper over there.
I have to go into town today, as the office is having the going away lunch for my boss today at a place called Grand Ole House. On the water and just a wonderful place to be and great food!! The Government Portfolio will also have a brunch for him on the 21st and there will be a lot of people at that one. He is moving to Parksville, B.C. which is south of John in Campbell River. They have found a house on the water front to rent until they find the one they want to buy. He is taking up a few of my boxes to save me the cost of sending them up later. Lucky me!!!!!
Well everyone, trust the others are all fiine, Have a great week.
DIANA - the fur babes look wonderful all cuddled up together. Maybe when I get back to Canada I can get a buddy for Munchins.
Was up Island the other day and got this picture - this is Munchins' Mom. She is quite tiny and had 8 kittens that litter. I often wonder if he would remember them after all this time.
Vicki - since 30 April 2009
God Gives every bird it's food, but He does not throw it into its nest.

John So sorry you lost your post that is soooo annoying when that happens. Hope your community recovers quickly from all the damages and that everyone's power is restored quickly too
Vicki Great to see your long post this morning . We will be stormin norman that this new drug really helps your pain and promotes better mobility for you. Nothing worse than having your mobility taken away because of pain and inflammation so really hope this drug helps you. Sounds like you have a fun and action packed schedule for your remaining time on the island...sounds perfectly wonderful we are soooo with envy. So wonderful to have company and that your good friends from Germany will visit you before you move back home . Hope you enjoy every minute and have lots of great times with all your friends and please share lots of snappies with us too as we want to come along with you on all of your adventures yep yep yep
Marg So glad you post poned your trip . I saw many ferries were cancelled because of the storm too, which is always a good thing. I cannot even imagine being at sea in weather like that.
SJ, Jude, Diana, Bev, Ma, John, Marg, Chip, Vicki, Kay, Lonette, Grizz & all of our Nester Buds hope you all have a great day no matter where you are
