Thanks for the info, Larry - that's great that PCT was so cooperative and generous. I hope they do return to their old nest then, and that the cams will stay there for a while, in case they do. That would be nice to catch glimpses of them now and then, also, if they use the old nest as you say. Smile Those eagles are pretty darn clever parents! lol

I'll bet they aren't, Larry! That's some trouble and expense to undertake to have the eagles thumb their nose and move next door! Oh My
Nice fly-in shot! Enjoy today's gorgeous weather!

About 7:30 or 8AM this morning I saw a single eagle, (no white), drifting up the hill over Clark Hill. It was moving too quickly for me to change the camera lens in time, but was probably the juvenile that we sometimes see here. Yesterday I saw it circling closer down toward the old nest but just briefly. So there is a juvenile in the area. Also, I am remembering that before I was aware of this website, we were watching three eagles coasting up the hill on a number of occasions just about the time the juveniles would be learning to fly, so will have to watch more closely this year.

Since we can only now post 1 picture here is something a little different.
short 45 second YouTube video for your view pleasure. Recorded as we came back from lunch at 10:30 am. Only 45 seconds long and was recorded today.

I will find another place to post the pictures and put the link up here.

Well apart from the video I posted I took some pictures as well and have posted them here on Flickr There are 29

Later near the end of the shift I got a chance to take another look to check on the nest and could see one of them being harassed by a crow while trying to glide on a thermal draft

Before I left for the day I went to my perch to take pictures and had my daughters camera which takes video and caught what may be her rolling an egg.

I am hoping for some decent weather this weekend as I am going to get to a high spot to see if I can see in the nest.

Here is my 1 picture to post

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for sharing these awesome pictures!! What good fortune you have to get a unique perspective on these eagles from your vantage point at work. I soon won't be able to see the nest at all from the boathouse parking lot, since the leaves are now filling in. On Thursday, I "thought" I could see the head of the eagle in the nest, but only from the road with the boat parking lane & dumpster.

The one picture is very interesing in showing how at ease the eagle appears to be, even though it is so close to the 2 men standing with backs to cam. Apparently accustomed to the people, activities and industrial noise. Is that the Barnet HIghway with cars (& bus) going by that I can see in the video background? I'm not sure about tomorrow, but I think I heard the news say that Sunday is supposed to be an excellent, sunny day. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!
