Then after I left the new nest watching the one giving the other heck I was back on the side to see the old nest at at 1:37 pm there was the dark figure sitting in the tree again so I wondered over to get a picture of what I thought was the little Red Tail Hawk but looking at the pictures I am not so sure that it is the the Red Tail Hawk. Juvenile Eagle?

It might be a Red Tail as they have tails smaller than the Coopers Hawks I am used to seeing around here: http:// patsraptorsDOTblogspotDOTcom/2007/08/coopers-hawkDOThtml

At First light I noticed 1 of the pair swooping low to the perch pole coming from the east so I suspect it was what I saw sitting on a branch at old nest about 10 mins earlier. I am not sure what time it left and did not see any activity at the new nest until around 12:30 pm.

Just mins after i took this picture 1 left the nest and headed east where it flew up to catch a thermal leaving the other one behind.

Then about a min later the one in the nest left and head in the same direction also catching a thermal

They soared out of of sight and i did not see them the rest of the day.

Just a quick note from yesterday and with all the rain we had the only glimpse I caught was 1 sitting on the perch pole looking very wet.

At 6:30 this morning you could see them both sitting on a branch next to the new nest but it was too dark to get any pictures. When it got lighter I went out to take another look and there was just the one there sitting on the same branch.

I got a little closer

As I was leaving the one on the branch took flight and headed over to the perch pole

About an hour later when I check it was gone and saw no activity at the new nest the remainder of the day until I left at 2:30

Will have a little more time to spend at the nest tommorow .I was going over the port moody thread from last year and it looks like they where late egg layers although they didn't produce(unknown reason's egg(s) didn't hatch)

Hi Larry. I certainly hope that is the case. I have been so disappointed noting that all the other eagles are busy in their nests and these two seem very casual about everything. They do seem to be at least hanging around the nest more these days.

I was assuming that geographical latitude decided when the birds were going to produce eggs and incubate but these two and the Hornby eagles are proving me wrong. Don't Know

At 7:15PM I watched an eagle gliding like a floating feather down from behind us on Clark Hill area to the inlet..........wonder where he/she was all day?
