The cam is down this morning - I've sent an email to the person who oversees it in the Army Corps of Engineers, but don't know how soon she'll be able to check on it. Not surprisingly, watching the cam isn't her only responsibility. Smile

I spoke with the Ranger at Libby Dam, and she said that they had determined that it's an internet issue, not a cam issue. Their internet person is taking a long weekend, so it's unlikely that the cam will be back online until sometime on Monday. (Or possibly later if it's something complicated.)

She did mention that this is her first part-day back to work after being out on maternity leave, and even though she had been dealing with email while she was technically off duty, she had 400 emails when she arrived this morning - at least some of which were about the cam (she recognized my name Embarrassed ) - so she does realize that there are a number of us who are eager to see the cam back online - and knowing that she's replied to me a couple of times while she was on leave - I know she will do everything she can to get it up and running as soon as possible. Left thumb up

I said I'd do my part by posting on the various forums so people would know that she was aware of the problem and working on it. Smile

The good news is that LL is only 9-1/2 weeks old - so while we are missing some activity, she's not likely to fledge for at least a week - and more likely two weeks.

Looking at the extended forecast, it looks as if there will be a chance of rain through the weekend, and sunny on Tuesday.

It did occur to me after I posted that it may be Tuesday before the cam is back - Monday is a holiday for many people in the US (including me Smile ) - Independence Day falls on a Sunday, so we get Monday as a holiday.

As a reminder, LL is just a few days younger than the Lake Washington eaglets, so you can get an idea of what she's doing by watching them. Smile

I want to be there - I think our low was 79! (not really, but it has been much warmer than usual in Maine for the last few days).

With a bit of luck, the cam may be back today - I'll try to check once it's officially morning out there. Smile

Added - cam is back - Thank You, USACE! Grin

And LL is looking like BL (Big Libby) love - though LL could also stand for Large Libby. Smile

(I think the clock had issues initially - those were taken around 11:20 MDT; it's OK now.)

I don't want to suggest that LL has gotten large ... tailfeathers ... during the week the cam was down, but.... Wink

More seriously - she really is doing great, and seems to be flapping back and forth across the nest. Grin

I did see one of the adults stop by briefly - and promptly be mobbed by LL. (If you don't think a single eaglet can mob an adult, you haven't seen LL in action! Titter ) I didn't see any followup eating, so am guessing it wasn't a food delivery.

I do have more pictures from yesterday, and will be trying to get some slideshows added soon.

I think I saw a feeding this morning. Haven't really seen that many, but am guessing they're most likely to happen early and late, when I'm least likely to be watching.

LL clearly has plenty of energy as she wanders around the nest, and definitely seems right on track. Grin
